Removing front fender liners

Has anyone with a 2nd gen had any issues after removing the front fender liners? I wanna go a bit lower and roll the fenders, but those damn liners man...

You can remove them, but they are there for a reason. You will start getting reverse dents from rocks getting tossed up inside and possible wiring damage since you will be exposing all the harnesses.

It's not advisable to drive without then, but you can. Just make sure you avoid gravel, puddles, rain and any other types of stuff like that. Even rally cars run liners.

My fender liners were destroyed after a few bad snow storms being "low" and last year the snow packed my wheel wells with snow. Trust me the liners are important.

OK. Has anyone been successful in keeping them after rolling and pulling their fenders?

Generally people that roll fenders dont care about their car. I dont have the front fenders rolled on my BD and everything still clear. But I also have a dislike for Stance of Hellaflush, so I'm not a good person to ask this. There are some members that have done it, but they have show cars, not daily drivers.

I haven't done it on my car yet cause I don't really need to, but you can do a partial roll on the fenders and still retain the fender lines, and the ability to remove them too. Usually the only guys who need to remove them are the ones who run hella flush fitment where they need to roll it completely flat to get the tire as close as possible and tuck the wheel as high up into the wheel well as possible. Assuming you're not gonna slam it super crazy you should be able to retain your liners with a partial roll.

Heatgun + a roller and it'll fold up pretty nicely, just don't roll it too flat/tight or else you won't be able to remove your liner because it is pinched between the fender.
Also if you roll the fender lip high enough you can remove the liner retaining clips as the lip will usually hold the liner up by itself.

I don't have fender liners on all my cars. Depending on how low your car is be careful with your big harness that goes thru the driver area like dead91silvia said or else it will rub on it and will break the wire(s). If you remove your fender liner now, you'll be surprise how much dirt/crap is stored by the rocker panel.

But.... On a rainy season you better have your intake silencer by the passenger side fender or else it'll do what my car did. Suck in the flood water thru the side and get your filter wet and make your car run crappy/cel lights.

I removed the fender liner to see the intake silencer or "snorkus" once. I noticed when I did that, the bumper cover was less secure and wiggled around a bit. I wouldn't recommend removing it either, for lowering the car or even just for weight reduction.
