2000 subaru legacy 2 bulb to 4 bulb conversion

so the other day i picked up a set of outback headlights to install on my brighton. I didnt know the connectors with different but i managed to splice them together and when testing it looks like i set it up right with the top set of lights being low beams and the bottom set beeing high beams.
now to my knowledge when the switch is in the high beam position all 4 lights should be on but it looks like my lowbeams just get brighter unless i use the flashing thing on the light stock.

is this right? have i wired it up wrong?

You are correct about the High/Low, Low is the top set of bulbs, High is the bottom. However, not all of the lights come on with high beam just the bottom. I have had a really hard time finding any good information on the headlight swap. I always get the typical "Do a search reply" which never turns up anything. Im not sure the wiring differences between the 03 and the 00. Currently the way my lights are wired up is backwards (Low when high beam selector is on and high on the low side with all 4 lights on) but this is the only way i have been able to get them to work properly. Do you mind posting up some pictures maybe we can figure this out together and do a write up haha.

i assume this is for a 3rd gen?
yes i got my GT/Outback lights working a long time ago!
i dont believe there is a wiring difference between years
i chose to hardwire the lights into the harness (no connectors, just solder)

as far as a write up goes i wouldn't mind!
i'll head out an take some pictures later today

Yeah that would be great. I forgot to look at the date of the post haha. Hey DNA, I actually did this swap not too long ago, only I went the route of making adapters using a 9004/9007 to HID adapter:

In the event I need to revert back to the old headlights, I still have the unmolested factory harness. I think the original thread was from LegacyGT.com. I will take photos of the adapter tonight.
