https://sl-i.net/FORUM/images/imported/2015/06/f49c306ebc34180196e9fde6777e455d-1.jpg
I'm back in a Legacy! Almost three whole years since I sold my first BD, and now I can say I'm no longer the outsider with an Impreza. Picked up this 2006 Spec B from a close friend who was no longer interested in the car. I sold my WRX for an offer I could not refuse, and then purchased this car the next weekend. Here's a list of the some of the features and parts that I know are on the car.

JDM Spec B front bumper "modified for FMIC"
2006 Outback front Grille
JDM rear trunk spoiler
Yakima Roof rack and basket

Tune performed by Jorge @ IAG in 2010 at 344awhp
Suspension/Brakes:
White line front and rear sway bars
Billstein struts with STi pink springs
Stop tech ceramic rear pads and slotted rotors
Stop tech rear brake lines
Interior:

Thanks guys. I love everything about the car, even its flaws. After driving around the area for 225 miles I discovered some small issues. The main one is that the right rear caliper may be stuck, and is dragging on the rotor. There is a humming noise at high speeds. The car also has some damaged interior trim pieces, but what bugs me the most is that it's filthy! She needs a complete detail. Hoping to have all of these issues fixed before the end of the month, so I can start to modify the car the way I would like to.

Humming noise as in wheel bearings? If so, from what I have read you definitely want to OEM for those. People on legacygt.com have said aftermarket ones can somehow mess up the ABS sensors and cruise control.

Mine had a humming noise coming from the rear when I bought it as well. I thought it was the brakes, but turned out to be the wheel bearing. It never got much louder, even up to when it started separating from the car...
Do you have a mod list?

Impreza is gone I think. I think he sold it to buy this awesomeness.

Hey guys sorry I haven't had time to respond until now. The humming noise is definitely coming from a locked up caliper. There is a nice groove mark where the pads are digging into the rotor. Ordering all new rear brakes tonight. And I still technically own my WRX, but the owner paid to buy the so we're just waiting for the title to arrive.

Haha it needs to be cleaned up. I'm getting the stock engine cover and will be hydrodipped in some way. And yes the owner that built the car told me it made 344hp on the dyno. If I were to get a new fuel pump and bigger injectors it could make 400awhp

I would rather have brake dust then squeaky brakes. That's what most guys complained about using hawk pads.

Thats interesting. My brother has Hawk pads on his Jetta. We just drove it to Detroit and back and the brakes didn't squeak much. But the Stoptechs are also much cheaper to buy, which I like.

I am currently running Hawk pads with WRX rotors/caliper brackets on my 2nd gen. The initial feel/bite is excellent. Yes, I need to wipe the dust off my wheels after a spirited drive, But I dont have to polish paint or touch up scratches from not stopping in time. I have noticed that I do not get ANY fade when pushing the car in the mountains, I am still running stock rubber lines, and those will be upgraded to stainless when I do the reshell on my car. I feel that dust/low speed sqeals on occasion are worth the trade off to KNOW that my car will stop when I tell it to even if I am abusing her. Hawk, Stop Tech, EBC, yadda yadda, worth the extra dust, noise and rotor wear.

Tonight I finally installed my V3 Accessport, and I met up with Geckoboy who provided me with an updated version of the GPS maps. Then I picked up a hood and bumper bra from a local Subaru owner for FREE! Sadly the bumper bra won't fit my JDM bumper, but I may keep it in case I return to a stock bumper.

I was in a detailing mood tonight after work. So I hand washed the outside for the first time, washed the engine bay and trunk jam, but before I could wax the outside it decided to rain. But my friend did snap a great picture of my engine bay at night.

So many more better/cheaper options around imho - stuff that price tag, purely to STI "exclusivity". ET55 will look tucked in too (stock offset). My big fat IMHO ;)
PS: jealous on pricing for the pads/rotors/lines you have over there. NZ prices a bit ridiculous :(

This week I have off, and while the shop is closed I decided to fix my front bumper cover. Instead of just sanding the chipped paint I made the hole for the intercooler larger, and trimmed the sides to fit the opening. No more smiley face!

Amsoil is wonderful stuff! Well, except for the price. I run it in my air cooled Harley, and in my GSXR750. But at $12.00 a quart for GOOD GUY pricing... it is pretty damn expensive. But it dropped the oil temps on my bikes by 25*f across the board. Let me tell you, on an air cooled Harley in Arizona.. That is worth the price in gold

Haha two months has been long enough. Nothing much has changed with the car. Just deciding what I need to fix or change first. After letting a friend drive my car we've determined that the clutch has glazed spots, which is causing the issue of the car bucking when first moving. So that'll be the priority to fix. Also need a JDM double din swap! Lol

Been off the forums for a brief time. Nothing major has changed to the car since my last post. Waiting for some time and money to install a new clutch, fuel pump, and fuel injectors to try and increase the power of the car. I feel like with the built engine and bigger turbo it should be making closer to 400 awhp versus 344.

Hope so too. The OEM all weather mats suck for coverage. Salt stains every year at the edges like they weren't there. I take it you still have a usable hook? Mine is still good but I jumped on IAG's group buy for the replacement bar for the future.
