Hello,
My name is Shane and I’m a Subaru Ambassador.
Being a Subaru Ambassador, I attend Subaru meets and events in my area to talk with fellow Subaru drivers as well as meet non-Subaru drivers and talk to them about how good Subaru is. I am given shirts and jackets from Subaru to show that I am a "go-to" person at these events. I am also allotted money from Subaru every 3 months to buy stuff to hand out from a select Subaru Gear store.
If you think you got what it takes, check out this site (https://www.subaruambassador.com). It may take awhile to hear anything. It took me over 6 weeks to hear from them. I’ve even heard of longer wait times from others. If there is an ambassador already in your area it will delay it even more.
Who else here is an Ambassador? Anyone have any questions?

I went to apply, but I think there's too much that shows that I really wouldn't want to be one:
I don't want to give much of my time for it, don't want to travel for it, I can't say why I want to be an "ambassador", etc...
Despite the large majority of cars in my ownership history being Subarus, I think I wouldn't be a good fit for this.

I don't think you really have to travel. I just go to car meets and other events.

Yeah, I still don't think I'm cut out for it. What are the upsides of being one?

Yama, knowing you as much as I do, I dont think it would be as fun for you as it is for others. But you are one hell of a S401 Ambassador. ;)
I would do it, if they started selling the diesel over here. :P

There is no cost to become one and you get some free stuff and some more free stuff to hand out to both new to Subaru and existing Subaru drivers.

Well, I finally emailed them last week about the status of my application. They tell me that I was approved 3 weeks ago, but I never received the welcome email/kit. They are looking into getting the welcome email re-sent to me, but I havent seen that yet either.

I received my first shipment, but I still do not have access to the website for some reason. I have emailed them a few times about it, but still nothing.

Fellow Ambassador here. For those that have applied and haven't heard anything, it took almost two months for me to receive anything...

It was about 4-5 months for me too. If I remember correctly. geckoboy86 already knows this, on Wednesday this week I will be at Subaru of America headquarters in Cherry Hill for an Ambassador meeting/round table event. The will be giving us a tour as well. I am also one of the lucky few who got invited and selected to go the Subaru National Business Conference in Dallas, TX next month. Subaru of America is picking up the travel tab too for the flight and 4 nights of hotel accommodations.

I saw a post on Facebook from an ambassador that attended an event at Subaru HQ recently, and he said that Subaru hinted at a new 7/8 seater vehicle coming out 2018, but gave very few details.

They have been talking about it for a couple of years now. There was some hush hush talk about it back in 2014 when the 6th Gen Legacy was announced.. Each year I hear the same rumor that "it's coming soon".. I will believe it when i see it ;)

Sadly as per the terms and conditions related to the ambassador, we can't really confirm or deny anything. You'd have to talk with corporate pertaining to this. But I can get you $500 off a new subaru.
I also am an ambassador. I do not recall anything in the T&C about not talking about future products, but I do know that have not heard anything official about a 7 seater, just the rumors that swirl around each time there is a big auto show for the last 2 years.
