So it's a bit of an interesting story how I got it, but I'll go into it later when I feel like typing more. haha

One of my old friends from high school sent me a message a few months ago about this car and I ended up with it after a couple months. I have a hard time saying no to odd cars and this one is by far the most odd.

It's an Australian 1968 Holden HK Kingswood 186. Nothing super special but it's in really good shape.

It has a 186ci inline 6 with a 3 speed column shift manual. Runs like a beast, but I've having problems with the clutch right now, but I'll have it in good working order soon enough. ;)

Like all of deads cars. I have to sit and scratch my head for a while. The man the mystery the legend.

But seriously I'm googling it now.

Is it a rebadged ford? Isn't that what Holden is in Australia?

Is that a rope to pull the clutch back up because it stays down on the floor?

That's awesome

HAHA! Yeah, it's one of the many little things to fix. Kind of a pain to drive it like that, but still fun.

And yeah, Holden is part of GM. :)

Also updated my sig... ;)

LOL!

I got the Holden into my carport finally. It has a few water leaks from the front and rear windows... no good... I did also clean the engine bay really well. I need to get new pics of it, looks really nice!

Holy moly! Crazy find, and that body looks damn straight too. You should have much trouble with parts too, they're are like Lego with American GM's. And anything Aussie only will be on eBay.com.au or gumtree.

I found a couple good FB pages for Holden's and pretty much found any part I will need already. I didnt realize the following these have. Also the Aussie's have been really nice to help me lean about them. With the GT-B going away, I'll be able to spend a little more time with it and some of my other cars. Though, I am sad that the GT-B will no longer be here....

Yeah the GTB will need a lot of money thrown at it to make it reliable. And yeah, the following behind old holdens and fords here is as much as old GM's and fords in the states. A lot are kept stock though, the restomod scene is only just starting to catch on here, and even then, not that common.

I'm just going to make it look all original but maybe get a set of lowrider style wire wheels, but nothing more. Maybe a CD player... lol. I love the classic look and it seems I'm not the only one.

Thought you might be interested to see an Australian documentary called Love The Beast. It's about actor Eric Bana's Ford Falcon XB but it also talks a lot about the Australian car scene. I got it from the library so definitely worth the price.

There are few cars that I feel positive about wire wheels on, but I think this might be one of them.

I have some what of an update on the Holden... I have been waiting about 9-10 months for a title, but unknown to me there was a major paperwork problem with it that I was never told about it, but the car is now has my name on the title and now full coverage insurance as of today.

I got a new set of plugs for it a few days ago and finally got to installing them yesterday and it runs so much better. Still drives like an old car from the 60's but it's kinda fun. It's super dirty but I'll get some new pics of in this weekend and update the photos. :)

Well, as of about a month ago, I sold my Holden to a fella in Canada. He drive 14 hours to see it and I made sure he left with it. lol... I kinda miss it, but at the same time, I had too many cars around to maintain. I do have some new pics, but I'll post them later.

Oh No! not the Kingswood. :toothy7:

Looking at your photo's that steering wheel looks so skinny and big compared to today's cars.
I had that exact same motor only it was 202 cu.i in my 1979 VB Commodore (https://www.shannons.com.au/library/images/auctions/K4H5D9Y0R6J1I3F9/1600x1066/1979-holden-vb-commodore-sle-v8-sedan.jpg), mine was White, 4sp manual console mounted. That engine came in 186 cu.i and 202 cu.i capacity they were reliable and simple to work on.

It was definitely a reminder of how cars used to be. I havent seen my 67 Chevy for a few months and havent driven it for over a year. It was kind of a bummer for it to go, but like I said, just too many cars to take care of right now.

I will say, that 186 was stupid easy to work on. I think it took me 10 minutes to do the plugs and that was taking my time. haha

Plus the engine had removable side plates to enable easy access to the hydraulic lifters, the carby was straight forward and simple to work on too.
There plenty of room in the engine bay to get to everything if and when you need too.

I really didnt have to do much on the motor. It ran good, just needed some TLC. Just simple things.
