I just bought a Agency power crank pulley and we are having trouble installing it. We cant get the main bolt of of the crank pulley with out all the other pulleys moving and the belt too. Help please!!!

I did the bump start method, breaker bar with extension resting on the ground, unplug the coil pack (plug is near the PCV valve), then a very quick bump of the starter motor. It was the only way I could get mine off even with a manual. Make sure you install it with the proper torque down spec so you don't mess up the pulley or the seal behind it.

Where did you purchase that too? I haven't seen that pulley before and it looks like a solid unit.

Impact tools!!!! The easy way to do it.


Word of caution, I toasted a starter trying that method. It was likely on its way out, but this killed it.

5ft cheater bar - aka the jack handle + screwdriver to hold crank on the backside of the engine.

I remember asking around and everyone told me that it was as simple as taking off one bolt. I see where it could have been that simple. I guess nothing is easy. I will have to go to a auto shop now.

if its manual put it in 5th gear i think it is or reverse...i ran into the same problem and that made it alot easier

It is simple. You just need a socket big enough, and a cheater bar, some WD40/PB Blaster, and a screwdriver to stop the engine turning over.

I learned what a breaker bar was yesturday when my friends tried to take off the bolt. I dont know what a cheater bar is though? Where can I get one and are they $$$

a cheater bar is just a long hollow pipe, that fits over the end of the breaker bar - all it does is extend the handle length, which as physics people will know, makes the level angle bigger which means you generate more torque with the same effort, at the pivot point.

hence why I said earlier, use a jack handle - they're usually hollow, and can slide over socket wrench handles.
