Background:
I was ready to move on from Subaru. The wagon was creeping up in miles and i had my eye on trucks, I really wanted to snag a low miles toyota tacoma simply for the versatility and high resale value. However, I was ready to hop in the right car if i found it and so I began searching. I had incredible difficulty finding a Turbo subaru that was clean/unmodified enough for me trust/want to make payments on it. Also, I know myself, I probably would not let a turbo subaru sit stock for very long.
My dream subaru (a stock low miles 3.0R Limited outback w/ tow hitch black interior Obsidian Black paint ) popped up and was sold out from under me in San Diego. This prompted me to revisit Subaru's. This car stood out to me, located in Bellevue, Wa, the dealership just wanted to much money. Finally, a dealership agreed to go for a lower price on this vehicle and I pulled the trigger.
Other Runner up's at this point included:
2008 Volvo C30 Type R
2011 Honda CRZ Hybrid
A million 1st and 2nd Generation Tacomas lol

Ha ha, that's several blocks from where I went to high school...
*sigh* I miss San Diego.
Does your car have parking sensors?! That's awesome!

Very nice. The 3.0Rs are slowly taking over SLI!
When I was looking at my 09 3.0R there was a deep metallic bronze 3.0R in the same area. It was at a small used car dealership whereas the one I bought was at a Ford/Nissan dealer. Its been a little over two years and I still dislike the dealer I bought it from. They treated me like garbage.

Wooo, 3.0R army! Welcome to the 4th gen 6-cyl club! That looks like a great find. I rather dig the parking sensors you have there, how well do they seem to work?

Do want. The rear wiper is the single feature I miss from my wagon more than anything else, I used that thing constantly…I wish I had the budget to add it to mine but it just isn't in the cards right now...

What?... Don't you get them stock?..
Nope. There are almost no sedans in the US with rear wipers.

And it makes no sense to me, they are so useful.

Only cars that we got with a rear wiper was the EVO, when we started getting the EVO7.. I just got a glass for my BD a couple weeks ago.
foohfooh, no joke, if you want one, there is one local to me. ;)

That certainly sucks! Discovered something rather cool the other rainy day: with the rear wiper set at intermittent once you switch into reverse gear the wiper starts to swipe constantly.

Nice looking Legacy, Foohfooh. Congrats on the find! (The 2008/9 OBP Outback 3.0R Ltd is atop my dream list, too!)

Some of the 2003-2008 Mazda6 models had it too. Agreed, jealous!

@Dead - dang! I love the rear wiper, in the US of A those rear wiper's really make a car stand out. specifically sedans. If i had the money i would be all over it! (more on this later)
@fwa - the parking sensors are weird. Sometimes they seem to send "false signals" occasionally. I know nothing is behind me but they still trigger. Other times they are dang useful. for example, in the photo in my introduction, parallel parking was a breeze! totally relied on the sensors. My buddy was even like "yo you want me to get out and tell you how close?!" and I was like "nah, watch this" bwhaha. but srsly, I need to look into this closer, maybe grit in the sensor? I dont want to ever back into anything or anyone (:/) I will take some photos of the sensor display so you guys can understand what im dealing with.
Yamazaki - San Diego's beautiful! Pacific Northwest is great place to grow up but San Diego woulda been nice too! let me know if your ever in town
Also, I just wanna say the 3.0L is amazing. Having driven the 4 banger for almost 5 years it feels amazing. Even if it isnt as torquey as a turbo, I still love it.
After buying the car, I road-tripped it from Seattle to San Diego, 1,200 miles (or 1931 Km) and, with two dudes, 50lbs of luggage and a grip of power tools and we averaged 27 MPG! We even hit snow in the sisikyou mtns and the subaru absolutely devoured the mtn pass for brekfast! and we listened to aux., sat in heated leather seats and enjoyed GPS the whole way! who knew subaru made a car this plush?
on to why I cant afford DeAds's rear glass hookup...

Doing WORK... Nice! I'm jealous, I'm really attracted to the idea of getting another 3.0R. They're great cars and I agree, the engine is phenomenal.

I'm so jealous!!!! not for the heated seats, or the sat. or even the 3.0..... Nope.... Jealous because of the rear seats. 60/40's . for what ever reason that I have yet to come close to understanding, Subaru thought it would be a good idea to NOT have them in the 05-06-some 07 Years... and here I am with an 05 and a dream to fold down the seats lol. the car looks super clean and awesome to hear the drive went well!!

srry guys. psych! I wish i bought work wheels. Those things would be beautiful but for now i just have the boxes...
...and some immaculate OEM wrx-takeoffs (5x100 17x8 +53mm )
The price was just to good and they were driven on for less than 10,000 miles! little sad about stepping back from the 18's though :pale:

HAHA. Thats one of the sets of wheels I have been thinking about getting. People over here tend to think they are worth a lot more than they are though.

It really is a completely different power delivery, I am really enjoying mine :P

Have you updated the nav discs to the latest version? My area underwent a LOT of road changes since these came out and mine still had the original nav DVDs, it made a world of difference putting the new ones in (there is a thread on LGT with links to the .iso files, you will need dual-layer DVD-Rs to burn them though).

Srry guys. I am really good at browsing the forums, not so great at posting on them lol.
The car is performing its duties wonderfully and I am doing my best to keep it shiny and make her payments on time :)

I put on a tinted rear license cover when I got my plates (4 bolts, easy install ;)) and removed the front plates.
The 2012 Limited Wrx wheels are gathering dust... scouring craigslist for used all season tires is never a good idea lol

Hopefully the pics work. My laptop is turning into a potato...
I am a firm believer that Subaru makes some of the best OEM looking wheels around.
I thought about going to the darkside and ordering Aftermarket. But visions of fitment issues/tire sizes/torn cv boots and vehicle geometry had me look at other options.
Worked with a JDM importer in LA to source these.
18 x 7.5 +55 22-23 lbs each
Closest thing i can find is maybe they came off a Club Spec 7 Impreza? its the damn same wheel off a 06 07 USDM spec b. The paint appears to be genuine STI factory finish.
wrapped in
TOYO PROXES T1 Sport 215/45/18's
Also i bought a STI GENOME strut bar from RedCELICA. its sweet cuz its gold too...
*edit* I can seem to get the first pics to show but if you click the link it works on my end *fixed

Nice looking color! Can't believe how good of MPG you get. When I'm trying hard in my 3rd gen 2.5L 5MT and just babying it, I get maybe 21mpg highway.
