Now i dont really know why im postin this, but i feel like it

i have white wheels on my car (rims from my totaled cavy)

how much did i pay for them to be white??

two cans of white spray and a roll of maskin tape

ive had them on for two months, ive put them off road, throught car washes, and scotch bright pads, and the paint hasn't faded yet.

so for those willing and careful enough to add a unique flare to your car, i suggest doin it

right now im workin on light yello rims, and spraying the grill, front & rear lip, sideskirts, and hood scoop to match

pics? I'm going to be running white wheels on my GC8, however I'm probably going to splurge and get them powder coated. I'd feel dumb spraypainting TE-37s

Thats cool the rims havent faded. The gril I am almost certain that it will chip because of little rocks and bugs that hit your grill. Tell me what happeds though.

Ive had the gunmetal paint on mine as you all know. That has worked out well.

How hot do wheels get? I've painted wheels before using duplicolor paint, and in fact, my current steelies have some black semi gloss that hasn't faded or chipped, but my RS wheels will be getting a dose of white.

Why do I need to know about heat? The paint I would like to use is enamel kitchen appliance paint. I used it on my shift knob and it is very durable with a cool powdercoat like texture.

Since we're on the topic of paint. Is there any paint you can use that would work on springs and sway bars? Both flex, and I'd be afraid of the paint cracking, but I wouldn't mind giving them a good coat of black paint to make them look better.

Who recently painted their windshield wiper arms? I'm wondering how to get the front ones off and if the paint has lasted.

To get the arms off you just have to take off the rubber covers and take the nuts off (10 or 11mm I think)

Its been about a month or so since I did it and the paint has lasted great, no peeling, scratches, or cracks to report :grin:

If you're grinding rust off, Dremel tool is definitely the way to go.

Nope, they are just sun faded. Both the front and the rear. I am also painting all my bumper guard things on the doors, possibly the mirrors as well. I bought some bumper coating in flat black and some other enamel flat black for the wipers. I also have some adhesion promoter from duplicolor. I went on a buying spree of paint basically.

I even picked up some hot tires white wall paint. Its for tire lettering. I'm using it on my RC car tires, and will eventually use it on my 1:1 tires.

Are you painting your door guards the body color or black? What color are they now?

Right now they are black. But super faded. The body color will be real hard to match, especially since only subaru carries the color in a touch up thing as far as I know, so I am going with bumper black again.

Mine are horribly faded too, you could save yourself some trouble and do what I do. I bought "Back to Black" or something like that.. just rub it on and they look brand new.

that doesn't last though. I sprayed mine black on my BD and then clear coated them and it worked great. Just make sure that all the "back-to-black" is gone before appling the paint. After the first coat of wax over the fresh clear coat it made the car look almost new again. I did the side mouldings, door handles, and antenna bracket. Paint is definetly the way to go rather than adding a ruber/plastic "restorer" every three days.
