Now I officially know what a turbo mated to a manual transmission feels like. And my sole reaction is  ....

I went down to the dealership to see if that 05 wagon leftover was still available. It wasn't. So I asked if they had any other Legacy GT's that I could try so that I wouldn't leave empty handed. He goes: yeah, see anything out there in particular? I hadn't really looked so he goes, well I know the Spec.B has plenty of gas and the battery is good, hold on i'll get the key. I was like: uh, sure

Compared to my car, that thing is a beast... Had to make sure I was holdding on when the tach. needle got to 3K

I happend to spot a cop when the car "got away from me a bit" Luckily he went by shaking his head knowing that I was out on a test drive

This experience will most likely make me buy a turbo for my next car...

Any other first timers?

one of my coworkers has a decked out WRX and his dad has a decked out evo that has been brought a few times. He has allowed others to drive his cars, but I don't have the courage to bash on another's ride. One day I'll take it through slalom and see what it can do. I've ridden in it, and it hits harder than any other turbo car I've ridden in.

Couple of years back, Subaru in PA held an Autox event at Beave Run, and had the new 05 GT's (sport shift only) as demo cars. Naturally, we hammered them.

I've had some priveleged rides and pilot hours in some rather nice JDM STi's...

My first experience with a turbo'd 5 speed was on a VR6 GTI putting down 480hp to the front wheels (understeer much) That thing scared the piss out of me. Oh yeah, and an open diff. The second one got me hooked. STI with 400 whp and 6 speed. Threw me into the back of the seats with a HUGE grin on my face. I really want a turbo'd 5 spd AWD car, but know I will either break the car or the bank (probablly both)

My 9-3 is my first turbo car, and naturally it has a manual transmission. I love it.

I'm still a virgin to the turbo thing. But there are a crapload of Subarus in this town  Maybe I'll get to know the guy with the CGM 06 STi (and hopefully he won't be a douchebag)

i drove a white bug eye that i damn near bought a while back. before the GT. when i still had the zr2.

that along made me smile.

i'll have a turbo car as my next one. if not a plain RS to swap, then it'll be a WRX.

i may swap the legacy if i can get an RS.

who knows, depends on the money.

When the 05 LGT's came out subaru paid me 25 buck to go test drive one.
That was the easiest 25 buck I have ever made and the most enjoyable. On the way out the sales manager looked at me and said "Just don't red line it". Yeah right.

Quite a difference from my 4eat BE.

I got my turbo cherry popped a LOOOONG time ago, that's why I want boost so bad now

First turbo car I ever rode in was a Z31 turbo, automatic. Guy only had it running 7lbs stock, but to me it was like ZOMG TURBO!!!

First turbo car I ever drove was a Galant VR4. That's right, the limited edition one in 1991. Still remember the number, 1803 of 2000. It had a clutch problem though, and I was at least wise enough at 16 to know I was better off getting a reliable slow car than a problematic fast one (hence the Legacy )

First Subaru turbo I ever drove was an 03 WRX, just had exhaust. It was fun

I also did the $25 BL/BP test drive, drove an Outback XT 5spd. Enjoyed it immensely. Something about the Outback with raised suspension and boost did it for me...

I also got a chance to drive a Spec-B, #322. It was actually from Classic Subaru, the dealer that used to own the place I work at before it got bought out by Star Imports and before I worked there. But I already knew the sales guy and he let me take it for a spin... by myself

I have now driven an STi, 05, just drove one a month or so ago. Sad to say, but it didn't feel as fast as the first STi I rode in. I think I've been a little jaded, so that's probably why. Doesn't mean I wouldn't take one

And the fastest turbo car I've ever been in? A Grand National with a T66 turbo. Nuff said

My turbo cherry was popped when I was 14. I drove my moms XR4Ti around the neighborhood and got on boost a little.

I bought my SS Feb. 19 2004, so I was 17 then.

Since, I've been extremely jaded about fast. I drive STi's all day long, and get to play with outrageousness.

Fastest Subaru I've driven right now is a 2.8L fully built 2004 STi with a GT35R. Either that or an 05 STi with a GT35R. He made 430whp on pump gas, 470 on pump with methanol injection, and 505whp with one pull on race gas.

Very soon, it will be a 2005 STI with a fully built 2.8L (sleeved, billet, balanced, knife edged, bored out, stroked with a custom crank, etc.) with a turbo in the neighborhood of a GT42R. With a 6-speed dogbox, it'll be one of the greatest Subaru's ever built.

drove a 490hp 300zx about a year ago. Frighteningly fast on the little backroads i was on. Frighteningly fast on the freeway too, come to think about it. It wasn't very fun in the twisties because i was so terrified of boost kicking in, and it was a hacked up POS that i didn't really trust to behave as i thought it would.

First one was a stock fwd eclipse turbo. I wasn't that impressed.

my turbo cherry was popped about 3 years ago in a 911 turbo (996, if you know porsche you know what this means)... i work at a porsche dealer.

anyways, it was amazing. now i drive cars like this almost everyday. and i understand what you mean about being jaded about fast BAC. i went out to the subie dealer like last year and convinced this guy to let me test drive an STi. and i left saying "it isnt THAT fast" my partner in crime, my buddy jeff, was of course dumbfounded by the ride.

turbo is real nice. my next car WILL boost, thats a promise

P.S. this was at my dealership last week. this is my example of fast
