Welcome. It's been years since iv'e posted on here. This is a fun little project car i saved from the wreckers to bring back to life for a road trip and daily car. I also enjoy a challenge to my skills and canvas for my crazy ideas enjoy.
Back Story
My buddy originally purchased this car December of 2015 from the original owner who bought it off the lot. He came to me to put a clutch kit in and i told him if he ever was going to sell it let me know. He owned it for 8 months time then wanted to scrap it. I bought it from him August 19th 2016. Let the fun begin :wave:

6 hours after i got it home. Face swap to 00 sitting in the final color that the whole car will be sprayed. (nice to have a whole free clip laying around from the 00 to 05+ facelift huh?)

I figured once i complete this swap as well i would do a "face-swap" thread. Subarus are great, you can grab any front core you'd like, weld it on and thats that. Hood latches are the same or easily fab'd on. Once you have the hood of your choice on the rest bolts together. :smt039

Time for some new doors! The rear brake lines were capped off as the fitting near the gas tank was leaking apparently, so new brake lines it is. Time to throw away the drums as well. Some sweet welding and quarter panel work.

Hey that's fine. I'm doing quarter panel patching on an 07 hawkeye wagon this month. Subaru loves the rear quarter rust.

Nothing to report on the wagon. Ordered coils, Grabbed some 07 wrx OEM wheels, Engine rebuild kit, ordered my paint...mini cooper paceman starlight blue metallic. Off to the pick and pull for an OEM roof rack!

wheels test fitted before they receive their new rubbers. A few more hours on the quarter and i'll move onto the other side and we'll be painting in no time. Rebuild kit arrived as well as new exhaust bits!

I don't think iv'e had that much fun in awhile doing a shifter linkage. Funny because i just did a clutch kit and pulled this tranny 6 months ago when my buddy bought it.

I need more info on the fitment of the third-gen spoiler. That's something I've been wondering for years, and you just go and do it. Curse you people with a budget higher than mine, and confidence about drilling/cutting! I'm watching you living my dream with this thing.

Fun build! Is that the Turn In Concepts shifter linkage? Your shifter looks like the one in my '97 Legacy L so maybe would fit?

The subaru is just for fun, the audi gets all my real love :thumbright: The spoiler fitment is alright. I can grab some close-ups for you. I just like the size and angle of the third gen year. As a "retro-fitter" you can make anything fit with time, money, and skills. With that said, i have some mini cooper inspired things in store i'm looking into. Split fenders, headlights and front fenders up with the hood. But for now i'm just getting it remotely back to life

oem subaru i believe. I ended up ordering a wrx linkage as this one is just toast. Ill be making all my own engine,tranny,rear sub frame,shifter bushings and mounts while were out and about. Took forever to find the part number on the shifter linkage hardware which is strange because i haven't owned a Subaru where i didn't have to drill out and replace the hardware.

Mini Cooper inspired split fenders. I've been thinking about this idea for awhile, essentially you could run any front end you'd want. Rubber trim seem between the two and the door seem and headlights won't look off. Thinking about going full mini Cooper and having the fenders and lights lift up with the hood. Also, engine getting its rebuild.

WRX shifter linkage installed with new bushings. Engine all back together and running. Few more things left to do then i can really get to work.

New fuel lines, new lift gate struts, serpentine belt adjuster fixed and installed, coolant added, cleaned up more of the engine bay and a test drive. Stuck working on other cars so not much more was done.

Not happy with the alignment of things but they're alright. Hard to mount headlights when the tabs and clips to snap into the fenders are broken. Lights all wired. Base coat to get everything one color for the finished color

First layer of single stage paint down. It'll all be sanded back for the base coat/clear coat once everything is finished properly.

From this point forward i'm taking care of all the mechanical stuff and will be re-visiting the remaining body work and paint correction later. All window internals need to be swapped back to manual or new fuse box for auto/central locks swapped in. All trim and black pieces sprayed, look into exhaust leaks, Undercoat, make bushings, cycle the ecu and make sure everything is up to spec for daily driving.

thanks, they're OEM 06-07 WRX wheels. Sapphire Black is the color

Busy working on other projects. Another subaru needed some love. Back to oem wheels for winter. Retrofit a few sets of headlights for this subaru and the one I was working on. I put on 1900 miles on her. Time to drop the gas tank to fix a few things and weld up a new exhaust.
