Been quite some time since I have been on the forum. Past cars are gone but recently jumped back in the 2nd gen game at the end of last year when I bought this beater gt/b from Canada.
It's far from clean, it's a typical neglected 25 year old subaru so everything is worn out, leaked oil everywhere.
Let's see if I can figure out the photo hosting and take everyone on the 4 month journey so far.
Current mod list:
Stock EJ20h engine.
Stock turbos.
H&S up pipes from the UK.
H&S Decat center pipe.
ZeroSports down pipes with custom screamer pipe.
Fujitsobo header.
3rd gen twin turbo silicone inlet.
ARC tmic.
ZeroSports LWCP.
Syms axle back muffler.
ZeroSports intercooler duct.
ZeroSports radiator shroud.
Tein S tech springs.
ZeroSports sequential controller.
Mines ECU.
ZeroSports air intake.
I regret selling all my rare jdm parts as they're triple the price now.
Have a set of ganadors, strut braces, roof braces, minty projector headlights to go on the car.
Picked it up in Bellingham Wa. 30 min from the Canadian border.

1st gear lol There isn't any rubber bushing left in the knuckle or the actual shifter seat.

So if I have this right it's an A rev GT/b. Black bilsteins. Sti badge, STi cluster, L7 bumper scuff plate and L7 grille. Came with the now extinct clear side markers.
The motor leaked so profusely. I had to put 3.5 qts of oil in it before driving 2hrs home. Still a decent car for what I paid.

I eventually got around to pulling the engine and then the parts ordering began. Big thanks to Reuben for his knowledge and spare parts. Talk about a learning experience on this EJ20h.

Soaked clutch. It barely grabbed.

The main culprit for the exxon Valdez oil leak. Not sure if installed incorrectly or just a cheap seal.

Only rusty part of the car was the down pipes believe it or not.

Motors out and torn down to the block. It was replaced in 2012 by the first owner in Canada. 6500cad spent and I dont think anything else was done maintenance wise since, other than oil changes. I think 50-60k km put on that engine according to receipts.
Started buying maintenance and jdm parts. I am replacing everything from the headgaskets on out.

Only way I could get this cleaned is 2 cases of brake clean.

Current state of the engine. Fitting this silicone inlet that's not for this motor and only available from China. Lots of trimming. I followed a write up from years ago on the NZ forum. If it weren't for this nicely done DIY I would have not even attempted it. Going to put new wire loom on the engine harness because the stock stuff just crumbles apart. Once the intake is bolted down and the turbo inlet is lined up it's just small things from there, tbelt, covers, vacuum lines, rear main, separator plate, etc.

If this is half what your old black wagon was, this is going to be really savage! Glad to see you back officially on SL-I with a 2G ;)

Once it is running again I still have a ton more to do. At least this chassis is rust free. :)

Thanks for keeping quality content still alive on this forum. FaceBook & the moronic posts are the absolute worst for Subaru car culture. Kids & their Juul vape pens, lol.
Great to see. I want a ride sometime, better yet let me drive it.

Yeah, I've been delving into the facebook subie world recently, and it's a bit depressing. So much shit in there that's already on the forums, but what can ya do. I'll keep posting here. The subaru mechanics group is the worst offender though, shit like "my CEL is on, I replaced 50 things and now it wont start, but I still don't know what the code is!"
