Will a rear sway bar made for an Impreza fit on the legacy? I have an old (like one of the first produced) adjustable whiteline rear sway bar from my Impreza and want to use it. If it doesn't work then I'm selling it. So does it fit?

depends on what generation legacy you have.

bc/bj's it hits the jack plate, which you can remove with a sawzall, bd/bg it bolts up, be/bk? ones don't fit at all.

Well... the Whiteline was on my 96 Impreza L Coupe and before that came off of a 02 WRX Wagon.

The car it would be going on it would a 96 Outback Wagon.

Does that helP?

It'll fit because 96 OBW is BG.

I'll take your stock outback sway bar when you find one. Its an upgrade for my car. I'm sure there'd be a awdpirates meet sometime soon to do an exchange.

damn, beat me to it!

I thought it wouldn't fit, because WRX swaybars rub the spare tire well on BD/BG/BK models...

He's also local to me  I thought the same thing mark, I could've sworn that you had to pound in part of the spare tire carrier to make it fit.

I'm pretty positive you do have to make some ghetto mods to get it to fit.

i was under the impression that the bg didn't have the jack plate in the way. The outbacks use the turbo legacy bars that go around the jack plate, and there's a big gap there.

What impreza is the bar from?

I believe he said he got it off a 2002 WRX. Hence the lack of fitting.

Does anyone have a picture of what bashing needs to take place to get an impreza RSB to fit?
