he's had links to his car pics in other forums, so some of us have seen his Spec B goldies on the car.

Yeah, Monovich (NASIOC) has silver Spec Bs on his BG. Look nice and clear the Subaru 4pots. He has claimed no rubbing either...and wagons are usually worse at getting NOT to rub.

Glad to hear it. Usually its the width that rubs and ruins wheel/tire mod plans. The height only really matters when you exceed the OEM wheel/tire assembly height, which I believe is 24.9".

In theory, you should be able to squeeze in 22" rims and roll some 1" plywood over the rims, as long as you don't exceed the width (no more than 225! max; ideal 215) than you should be fine...in theory.
