Hey whats up guys? I was invited a while back (a day or so before the forum got wiped out), and I never really made it over until now.

Anyhoo, my name is Dan, and I am 19 years old studying mechanical engineering here in Colorado. I drive a 1996 Subaru Legacy L wagon, its green with a 5spd. Picked it up 2.5 months ago and have already spent close to $400 on it (brakes, tuning up, general maintenance) and plan to spend another $200 shortly for tint and K&N/snorkus removal. Here she is, my girl Julie:

Here's my old ride (and the reason for my name, just something I've used on all the forums I am on... its sad if you google my name lol)

As for my other ride, here it is...

I have about $600 invested in that thing, and did the CNC/design work myself.

Other than that, I love racing in all forms but nascar, I work as an assistant driving coach (teaching emergency avoidance maneuvers and general car control/smoothness) along with another job and a fledgling internet business selling chassis' for RC cars like the one above.

Nah, I just know I don't need to compensate

For being a teenager on a budget saving for college and such, I don't think my truck looked all that bad. Besides, toyotas have no power as is. I kind of feel sorry for your truck. There are tons of toyotas around here on 44's, and they don't last more than a few months.

Damn deadlegs! I take it you park that thing outside? Either way, welcome to the site! Next time I'm out in CO we should meet up and hit some dirt roads in the mountains. Whereabouts are you?

I'm in Parker Colorado. Its basically the south east corner of Denver. Just sold my old truck wheels yesterday, so now I have money for tint  I'll be calling around today and getting it done in the next week.

And wait a second, deadlegs, you have door locks but no handles??? How do you get in?

I actually sold that truck a while back. We used to use it at different promotions to draw attention for different companies. The picture I have there is right after it came back from the paint shop. Notice there is no trim on it.

It was fun to drive because it had a SBC 350 under the hood and 4:11 gears but I stopped driving it because it was just plain scary with the stock yota axles. They were way too narrow. I didn't feel like doing a Duece axle swap so I sold it to a guy who was asking me about it.

I apologize to the new guy. I was just razzing you. Welcome to the board.

Please. I can take it. rccrawler.com is the pirate4x4 of RC cars. Pirate4x4 if you don't know is one of the harshest 4wheelin' boards on the net. RCcrawler is run by a bunch of the guys from pirate4x4, we give and take crap all the time.

Probably would've broken the axles if that thing had ever hit a trail (toyota front axles have weak steering knuckles), and if you hadn't dropped american muscle in, you would have been doggin' on the streets. Even the toyota V6's were way underpowered (for example the 3.slow).

In fact, bringing everything back to subaru, one of the site owners over at RCCrawler that lives here in Colorado has this subaru powered beast for the UROC competitions:
