Ok, so would someone mind posting some rare parts for the the BG5? I suppose pictures would be a nice little feature of this thread, but who knows...
Thanx

And I can't seem to find an example (I guess it's that rare!) but cleared sidemarkers are hard to find!
example of non-clears:

Yeah, I had a set of smoked clear sidemarkers, but someone in a parking lot was nice enough to remove one of the lenses....with their door. Couldn't find replacements, so I'm rocking the ambers. I couldn't even find them when I was in Japan.

Should be way easy. From what I remember reading the hole you pass the wires through is already there. I imagine you take out your front turn signal bulb to give you slack in the wire, pull it through the hole, splice in, and bam, you're good to go.
I saw the clear markers, someone had 12 of them in the UK. If the price had been cheaper I would have been all over them.

in australia though. cost me about $10 to have a set of reverse glow guages sent over to me in aus from the states, can't understand why it would be to pricey to do the opposite

So about $50 US dollars. Pricier than orange, but could be well worth it. BGwagon? Where are you??? They'd look sick on there.

Actually, those markers are in NEW ZEALAND (bloody Aussies! LOL).
US$50 to buy now inc. international shipping, not bad really. there's no bulb holder though, and that's a majorish part that USDM cars are missing.

Yeah the plastic triangle piece just pops out. I am not sure what huffer means about the no bulb holder on the clear ones though? I think orange would look better on your tan car though.

of course, just splice into the turn signal wire on the headlights.

Wiring is easy, once you have some sort of bulb sockets (I used some rubber universal-types that have been fine for the last 5 years).
Pull out your headlight, and remove the turnsignal harness to get some working room. There's 3 wires going to it. Depending on how you want the side markers to work, you'll tap different wires. I chose to have them come on with parking and running lights, and then flash opposite of the turn signals (so when they're illuminated they go dark when the signal lights up/goes bright). Just tap the 2 outside wires on the turn signal harness with some vampire taps, order doesn't matter.
I did it without removing wheels, fender liners, or fenders, by just using a coat hanger cut up to loop the tip of the harness and get it back to where I could pull it through the side marker hole. Runs over the fender liner, again, no problems in 5 years, and it stays with the harness in the car when I pull headlights out. Perfect!

Well I thought about getting the clear ones, but then took into account Plays_With_Toys and decided that orange would blend with the goldish/tan exterior color.

Yeah, there's two tabs in there, use a screwdriver to bend them, and they'll pop right out.

The clear ones on Australia Ebay are replacement lenses for Oz, NZ & Jap cars - they are not spares for install on US cars. Pretty much how the Imprezas come with orange sidemarkers, you buy an aftermarket set of clears - these are the same.
So if you bought them, you would still need the lightbulb socket & wiring.

Back on topic, another RARE part for the BD is the rear windscreen wiper.
