I know some people like to keep the bass for themselves, and some head units have sub-woofer controls but you have to find the feature and disable then enable.. blah blah blah.. takes forever cycling through the menu.
A quick and simple way is to install a switch for $5 (purchased at home depot)
There really is no instructions, except to cut the remote wire from the back of the head unit and connect it to the switch, put the switch in a convenient location and voila.. this switch will cut the signal from the head unit to the amp and your amp will shut off, hence shutting off your bass but still keeping your door speakers playing.
Crappy picture from my camera phone, but you get the idea.

I used to have a switch for that too!
Now I just have it on all the time, cause it's not one of those "rock the block" subs, it's just a good small bass solution that fits in my spare tire well.

hmm I didn't put in a switch for my subs, Why would I buy subs and turn them off? But I did install some auxiliary lights and since I don't smoke, I put the switches in the Ashtray with I am quite fond of.

one switch does the center pair and the other does all four so I can kill all four with one switch for traffic.

I put my switch for my antenna in the exact same spot. I always listen to cds so I hardly ever use the radio and I hate the look of the antenna up all the time.

Hmm... that's odd.. my head unit retracts the antenna when the radio isn't playing and extends when switched to radio. I believe most head units will have this feature.. you sure you have it hooked up right?

Yeah. I hooked it into the antenna/sub power line. Its an older (6-8 years) keenwood head unit so it may have not come with that option.
