Are you running mad crazy mods?
If not, then stick to factory spec. Nothing wrong with it.

Did you buy from subaru? I found that replacement plugs at Advance auto were only $2 cheaper for some knock off brand compared to stealership pricing for brand new plugs.

Probably because of how interchangeable everything is on subes, the parts are made in bigger quantities and therefore are cheaper.

I'm Running NGK Irridium plugs and their street-grade wires. I thought my battery was dying last year...swapped out the wires that actually broke during removal, and the plugs that were completely shot.

It was an even hundred bucks for the 4 plugs and wires set, but I know I'm set for a long time. I did notice better throttle response, just revving in neutral a little bit. If you do decide to stick with OEM, then at least get the NGK oem replacements.

I'm in Canada, pricing seems to be a lot more expensive! They want $21/each for NGK Double Platinum OEM plugs and $38/each wire..

(21 x 4) + (38 x 4) = 236 x 1.14(tax) = $270 CAD!

I could get Magnecor wires for $199 + tax

I decided to stick with OEM equivalent, going with NAPA Auto parts wires (Belden brand with lifetime warranty.. few guys on some other forums are saying they aren't bad) for $99 and then NGK Iridium IX plugs for $10/each

Only if your wires have high mileage relative to the plugs...if not just switch plugs.

Plugs are supposed to be 15k on the coppers, 30k on the iridiums IIRC...wires usually last way longer than that.

I did both when I got the car, $30 for Bosch wires and $20 for NGK iridiums...good maintenance, probably brought it back to factory spec.
