So, Kellys thread has rekindled my love for the SS. I'm thinking about building one as a daily (Read: will never happen, it will be modded heavily)

Just by a Civic.

Sorry, had to

I've had more then a few SS's and TW's and I think they make poor daily drivers. The gas mileage just isn't there and the reliability just isn't there.

I'd take a 2.2 N/A over a turbo anyday for a daily.

hmm, good thoughts. Maybe I'll limit myself modding the GC8 and make THAT the daily. I'll have to think about this more. Theres no rush, it was just a thought.

i just have two legs (most of us do  ) i have my 97 4eat as the beater and blacky is the project. i even have a 91 that i will make into a convertable, cuz my sawzall is my friend  .

the gc8 would be a good daily because if your going to drive it DAILY, it might as well be fun.

I wouldn't go older than 8 years on a daily driver. Over that, it's a project car.

Reliability declines after 10 years, depending on prior storage, use and abuse.

truth. I'm heading on 12 years, and...yeah, things are starting to go. not internal stuff, but bushings, and wear items.

The clutch is noisy, but still hangin' in there. I would't keep it if I upped the power significantly though
