Performance Plug Wires

I've been looking around for replacement plug wires for my leggy for quite a while now, and I'm happy to report that I have finally found some that fit right and won't break the bank. Not only that, they're genuine STI* !

Karlyn/STI has engineered a wire set line that is second to none in every aspect of performance, protection and coverage.

This afternoon I installed them on the legacy, the lengths are perfect and the spark plug connectors fit better than stock.

I got mine from Olympus Imported Parts (http://www.forparts.com/), they were very helpful and shipped them out promptly, not to mention the pricing is awesome.

Anyway, if you're in the market for new plug wires I'd definitely recommend them.

how do you like them? any gains?

I've gottn the Magnecor KV85 for one month and must say I love em!
No installation probs and the engine works perfectly, great starts and lively throttle response. Cost about $64 on ebay plus S&H.

Yeah, I had heard bad things about the fitment of magnecor wires on the DOHC EJ25, which was one of the reasons I was looking for an alternative.

I only installed the STI wires last night, but driving to work this morning it definitely seemed like throttle response was improved. My old wires were pretty crappy though.

I paid $67.97 for the 654 (DOHC), $41.22 for the 673 (SOHC) and $7.09 s&h for both sets.

I realize this is an old thread, but from your experience over the past few years of having these, how do you like them?

Not that it necessarily means anything, but I've used STI (brand) coils on other cars before, and they sucked. I put a full set of coils on a Civic, they all failed one by one over the course of 3 months. Put a full set on a GTI a few months ago, so far 2 of them have failed. Thats enough that I've decided never to use them again.

Magnacor wires are the best I ever used! I had them on my ej25d and I bought the off a guy on here that had them on his ej25d. I actually sold them here to another guy who has a ej25d and I have not heard any complaints! Great spark every time with the the 8mm competion wires! With V-power plug there was a definate performance increase over stock.

i have msd 8.5 mm wires that you make your self, i got them for free from my brother in law cause the packege came with 9 wires and he only used 4 so he gave me the rest, they work good but are a pita to make but i felt a small performance and the exhaust note changed a little bit and it starts easier

My car still had the OE plug wires on it when I got it, and they were still in good shape after 11 years / 150k miles. I replaced them with another OE set when I did the tune-up, and they really are pretty reasonably priced, and (shockingly) they fit very well! lol
