So I de-badged my car because I wanted to be cool and oopsies, there's two holes where the "Legacy" badge was! I ended up breaking the badge so its no longer useable.. I didn't wnat to spend any money at a body shop to bondo/sand/paint.. any other ideas what I could do.. ?

bondo it up. that's what I did. That shit rusts anyways, so I was forced to.

Bondo. Or sand the badge down, paint it and and stick it back on.

I put the AWD badge over them after I paint it the same color as the car.
Pictures are some where I'll see if I can find them.

don't, it'll rust eventually. Just seal it off before it becomes a problem.

Why not just ditch the badge, and paint over? Cleaner look...

cause I didn't want to do the whole bondo sanding matching paint bit.. i have those two plastic plugs in right now to hopefully prevent rust.. but I might just end up getting it done properly

do it now. For your own sake. I let mine go, and it was just a PITA to do later.

+ forty million.

Nail the rust now, means you don't have to replace a whole panel later.

Agreed on the preventing rust if its bubbling.

As for your badge, I would just put the AWD badge over it. Its large enough to cover the holes, and its free.

No, it's short by about 1/2".

The holes on the BD/BK are spaced out quite a bit more than on the BE/BH.

Anyone know what emblem the JDM cars have on the back? I have JDM tails coming soon and I think it would be kind of dumb if it said "legacy legacy" on the back of my car. I'll have to get a subaru bage or something instead, I don't think I could match the paint well enough to cover the holes.

Bondo holes. Get an SL-i sticker to put over the bondo so you don't have to paint it.

Yeah that sounds like a better idea. I think if I tried to paint it I would just screw it up.

yeah when i debadged my 2001 GT, i had fun discovering the holes, none of my badges were damaged at all, I did it on a day when it was about 3,000 degrees out so the adhesive was already a bit soft, i ended up dropping like 6 dollars on 3m emblem adhesive (NAPA) and stuck the GT over the holes where the Legacy badge was, and now my rear end is all pretty

sorry to hijack your thread....

but can any1 advise how much a replacement badge is?

i'm possibly looking for one for the MY07 legacy. i'm in Aus and they call them the "liberty". thought might be nice to follow the worldwide naming...

but just a thought

Cost to you, about AU$400 for a trip to New Zealand and a Subaru dealer.
;)
