I bought this (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1082757) spoiler for my BG off NASIOC for $75 shipped. I thought it was OEM for some reason when I bought it, but looking back at the original thread I guess it never says that (I'm stupid). The brand is "California Dream Wings" It has instructions and some sort of adhesive pieces that are supposed to act as a template. So I was just wondering if this is the same brand as the "replica" ebay ones that don't fit right, or is it legit? Here's some pics of it:

I sat it on top of my roof and it seems like it would fit ok, but before I drop cash to get it painted I thought I would check in with you guys.

Thanks

Looks fine to me? Without seeing it test mounted on the car it's hard to tell.

I'd like to see it on the car. I'm looking for a spoiler for my wagon and by some of the photos it seems that the aftermarket factory look alikes might be a little longer than the factory one, which I think would look cool, but still retail the OEM look. mount it with some tape and take some photos, see if you like it and post up what it looks like.

Yeah I'll tape it on tomorrow and we'll see.

Taped 'er on tonight and got some pics... It seems to fit ok. Man I have no idea how to figure out where to drill the holes though, the directions dont really make much sense. But I'll worry about that once I get it back from the paint shop. It looks like the sides may not match up with the roof lines perfectly, but I thin it was just sagging a bit because masking tape isn't very secure:

(please excuse my dirty car, it's been rainy here)

that looks pretty good for a stock replica. I wish someone made one that looks stock but sticks out about another inch or two, I think that would look hot. The only other one's I've seen are WAY too big for my liking.

Can you open the trunk with it mounted? I hope you tested that too.

Don't even bother with drilling holes. The downforce on that wing isn't going to be great enough to tear it free if you use the correct industrial glue.

The body shop that fitted my top spoiler (see pic below) didn't drill holes, just used glue. And it has stayed on at 210km/h... ;)

Trust me, if you do it right, there will be no problems.
It's been on the wagon for 3+ years, and over 60,000km. Many a road trip during winters, rainstorms, heatwaves etc.

Yeah, I'll see what the bodyshop has to say about it. You gotta admit that's one sweet gif though

Trunk seems to open fine with it.

i attached my wing with glue, windshield urethane that is, and it hasn't given me a problem in 2 years through winter

I'm getting the spoiler back from the bodyshop this weekend so I wanna bump this.

HOW THE HELL AM I GONNA MOUNT THIS SUCKA?

If I go with glue, what kind should I get? And how can make sure it doesn't get "unpimped" as I'm driving down the freeway?

Thanks fellas.

Either glue or bolt on.

We already told you.

You should have had the bodyshop mount it for you, while they had it there.

One of my brother's friends up at his college got it painted for me (his dad owns a bodyshop) so I got a killer deal. But I never really got to talk with anyone about mounting it.

I was kind of hoping to do it myself and save some cash but I guess I'll have to break down and take it somewhere local.

thanks
