Hello all!
I recently swapped an EJ25 with a blown HG with an EJ22. The car runs fine but throws a CEL code (something to do with the evap canister). I have heard this is normal when doing these kinds of engine swaps but I was wondering if I swapped out the ECU with one designed for the EJ22 if it would clear up the issue.
Thanks for your your input.
Regards,
Damien

I think it's a good idea to swap out for an EJ22 ECU anyways. You're probably running really lean, considering the reduced displacement...

Where is the ECU located? I'm guessing somewhere under the steering column on the driver's side.
Thanks!

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's behind the glovebox.

the ecu in bd's in under the passenger floor where you put your feet. takes minutes, even i was able to swap it quickly.

Is the EJ22 ECU plug and play with the EJ25 harness?
Holy thread bump!!!

The ej22 ecu is plug and play with an EJ25D wiring harness. Don't know about SOHC 2.5's if that's what you're asking.

Thanks for the confirmation Mike. I got an ecu from a EJ22 Legacy in a wrecking yard yesterday. Here is to hoping that this will take care of my MAP sensor code it is currently throwing.

Did it work? Do the connectors for the EJ22 wiring harness plug right into the EJ25 harness? Did you encounter any other problems along the way? thanks
