eBay Borla Knockoff header

[Reason]

I just put this header on my car yesterday. Though it sounds cool it killed what little low end I had. Need to see what I can do to correct this. Not sure if I'm doing a swap still or not.

What's the high end like? Any gains at all?

Honestly I haven't really tried yet. Let me tell you in a few days. Riding my bike, then driving the legacy just kills any and all fun. I might just go back to my original plan and have a 5mt done. I would like the turbo and psst and wooshing sounds, but I rather buy a house first.

I've heard that about the knockoff headers, they kind of kill the backpressure that N/A engines need a little bit of.

It's surprising the difference in headers. I went wiht my friend in his B18 swapped/built civic to the dyno shop, he first had a DC on there, the guy said nope, they're junk, so he ordered and installed a Greddy, yeah, 19hp difference, saw it myself.

Oh yea, it has a sweet sound. All I need to do is tune it really and I'm golden, maybe get a high flow cat to finish it all up.

Do you have a stock exhaust still?

The Borlas, knockoffs or real, need a freer flowing exhaust IMO. I found the car revs much more willingly with a better exhaust, so that slight stall off idle is gone pretty quickly, once I've gotten the car past 1500rpms.

Regardless even the genuine Borlas only add 4hp-6hp from previous dyno charts done by Impreza guys, so to put it simply, it's a sound header :D.

Sweet spot on mine (knockoffs to 2.5" catback) is 3.5k-5k, the car really starts to pull 3.5k and after 5k it's just make sweet, glorious, boxer sound :grin:

The only real restriction I have left are the cats, which will soon meet their demise, along with the headers.

Same here with the sweet spot, I noticed that tonight. I have the Borla knockoff, Stromung mid pipe and a Borla muffler.

most headers don't make a huge difference on any car if you don't have supporting mods. just like an exhaust or an intake without supporting mods (ie head work, cams, etc) you won't realize the full potential of the header until you are pushing a decent amount of air through it.
