OK! i have a 2,500mi round trip to MA coming up soon. i would like to make a thread that lists and becomes the official "Long Distance Prep" thread. i will edit and categorize as you all fill in. i want to have a good checklist for us all to reference.

so here we go:

what should i do...
i'm thinkin...

oil change, (need it anyway)
a new fuel filter,
round of seafoam,
maybe air filter,
PCV valve,
coolant check (please God no oil)
take out and clean the HVAC fan
rotate tires
make sure jack and wrench in place and working
check wiper blade condition (front and rear)
wiper fluid level
clutch fluid level

power steering fluid level

dang i'm forgetting a lot.

i just hit 70,000mi today, what else should i do for the trip?

as yall suggest it i'll add it.

ITS FOR SLi'S BENEFIT! OUR BENEFIT! chime in!

thanks!

If I go on a trip usually I just check oil, coolant, washer fluid, tranny fluid, power steering fluid, gas, and tire PSI. Also, I bring lots of fluids for myself :)

Make sure none of your belts are worn....tire PSI is a big one. I forgot to check that when my mom went to Ohio and she blew her tire
Otherwise, that's all I can think of.
Yes, make sure you have enough stuff for yourself. (clean pair of underwear  )
Have Fun!
