My 95 BK is in dire need of shifter bushings.
I've searched here, Nasioc, and legacycentral and all of the results I've come up with have hinted towards options, but never definitive.

Any ideas on which bushings to use, personal experience helps.

thanks a lot,
Kurt

I got the Kartboy ones, the front and rear with the short shifter.. mines a 99 BD though.. I haven't installed the rear bushing, but after installing the front, WOW, big difference.. but I heard the rear bushing makes even a BIGGER difference.. Kartboy :smt023

I've been meaning to get to the bushing install for the rear. Am I going to have to jack up the car?

Jmoney- yes, I think so.

supra90- I believe that even though the shifters on the 95 are different than newer legacys, the bushings will work. Tom @ Kartboy never responded to my question though.

I just ordered the 97+ 5spd Kartboy shifter bushing set.
We'll see how it works for 97- transmissions.
I'll be the pioneer! lol....
if it doesn't work out, i've got a 00 OBW that's quite possibly looser than my 95....

I got a set of delrin bushings on my BE.

The KB that I bought will be coming with one too...it'll be going on NABISCO soon along with the PDM shifter the KB will be replacing...

Who makes a full delrin set? The KB only comes with two of them, and it looks like it's the ones at the base of the shifter, or maybe the ones at the transmission. I'll find out, but I'd really like a full complete set of new bushings... I've got like 4" of side to side freeplay when I'm in gear

if you've got 4" of play while in gear, i think we're gonna have to go well beyong simple bushings.

i don't remember if it was here or was it on NASIOC, but someone did a full shifter teardown and repalce ALL the bushings.

Yeah, I saw the writeup. Too bad it's nearly worthless because the pictures were all taken down :-? I Pm'd him, bumped the thread...no avail :-(

They're installed!
Still have the side to side play, but that's because of this bushing http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8 ... P_4227.JPG (http://www.main.experiencetherave.com:8080/subaru/images/jointcustom/DCP_4227.JPG)

it'll get sorted out soon enough though. I'm thinking about getting some nylon stock and piling it in there... there will be a solution, and it will be cheap.

I'm sure the return to center springs are shot too.

rather, they're gone, Mark.. lol

I can make that work too though. that's not a big deal at all.

Alright. Much searching occured, and this is the result.
Anyone with excessive shifter play should check these links out.

I think that's all the info that's necessary for shifter bushings.
thanks guys, I agree that this should definitely be made a sticky.
should trim down the non-useful info though.

I added it to the threads of note post. It's better than having 5 billion stickies.

For anyone who's interested, the part number for the "joint" is 35047AC030 (where bushings "A" go) seen here:

You beat me to it!
I did organise the thread so it was sorted by engine and drivetrain.
