Today ,I removed my IC to get at the starter motor. & I noticed that the engine mount that goes to the firewall, was missing the bolt at the firewall end
So after finding a bolt to fit in there & fitting it, I was very pleasently surprised to find that the annoying rattles that I was going to pull the dash apart one day to fix, was completely gone
You know the ones, when sitting in Drive at the lights or something the dash starts rattling. theres not a single rattle anymore, yupee. :D
also i found that the lower nut for the starter motor was missing ,but i wasnt able to find a bolt today,so i have to get something done about it next weekend.being that my replacement starter didnt fit
so i just cleaned up my old one & put it back in.its working for now anyway.

yes, I do like it when I go to find something and I find something that I've been needing for a while. It's a cool feeling. I should probably check my transmission stuff...I've been hearing some noises when I shift.
Nice Job 8)

I found a brand new oil drain plug, (2) OEM wiper refills and some poster about my car, in the trunk of my car while cleaning it out today. I want to say that all of this stuff is from 1990 when the car was purchased.
Needless to say I was stoked.

CTGT - does it rattle at all when your are driving around as well? It may be your heatshield, jack up your car, put it on jackstands, and get underneath it with a rubber mallet, just tap the heatshield (preferably when its cool so you don't burn yourself) and listen for where it is loose...then you can either take a ring clamp to it or simply bend it up or down so it wont come in contact with your exhaust pipes or whatever it is striking to ring it like a cowbell.
Yeah I discovered something interesting about my tranny mount when I was replacing it:

That explains a lot of things about the way the car drove.

Jack up the car, make sure you get it on some jackstands (don't ever get under a car with just the floorjack holding it up!!!!), then look for your cat. Just above the cat and down just before the midpipe should be the heatshield (big piece of aluminum held on by 4 bolts and 2 nutwashers. You'll need a 12mm socket to get them off. Unfortunately for me I removed mine today but I still have that awful rattle...2 day's of removing shit from underthere that was loose that WASN'T causing the rattle. Now I'm just hoping its not something loose in my transmission bell housing thats getting kicked around by the flywheel....that wouldn't be too good...but I can't find anything else that could be making the noise.

When I first got the car the trunk was full of empty doll boxes. There had to be 30 flattened boxes in there. It was kinda creepy
