It rained the other day and my driver side JDM Tail light is building up condensation!! I believe that black gooey stuff isn't making a complete and there's just not enough of it, any idea what that stuff is called so I can grab some more and re-do both tail lights properly with new sealant and not the old stuff??

my "source" say it's 3M strip caulk. redily available at most auto-part stores.

Its nothing special. Hell you could use bathtub caulk, but Id go with stuff you find in the automotive stores ;)

get silicone adhesive sealant. i have a tube of the black kind but i think they have white and clear as well. pretty sure your local auto shop should have it.

don't get anything permanent.
it'll be a real pain if you ever have to replace the taillights.

I noticed some condensation on one of my headlights this morning.
Do I need to open it up and dry it out before I seal it up.

Yes. Unless, you want to permanently seal in the condensation that's already in there.

Is it really necessary to open it up though. Its not like the headlights are airtight or anything (bulbs)

I found the stuff, and I think we should put a sticky somewhere telling anyone who purchases JDM Tails to remove all the old gooey black sealant and replace it with new or else the tail lights may leak.
The stuff is called Polyurethane Roof & Flash Sealant

It's on the 10th page, 2nd item. I got it at Home Depot

Does it only come in the big tube or can you get it in a smaller tube?
