Well, I took some pictures for documentation. I cleaned my windshield and headlights and parked the car 30 feet away from the garage. These are pictures of my stock headlights.

---Low beams---------Low with both fogs--------High with fogs

The fogs fill in the lower part of the road and a lot of the low beam area, the high beams pretty much point in the same place as the lows, but its more concentrated on the center.
In other words, my high beams do jack squat and my foglights are more useful than my low beams.

What it looks like now

Think of how I felt with my stock headlights...I didn't have any fog lights. You'll enjoy the new headlights for sure. If you need any help, there's a few of us here who have done it.

Sorry, it was really busy on the farm this weekend so I didnt get a chance. This week is no better with school (3 midterms, 2 assignments, and 1 lab) so I probably wont get to them until sunday (I hope).

ok, so I got them in tonight. Probably took a total of 1 hour, plus the trip to town to get two low beam bulbs

I havent adjusted them yet, but from the drive back from town theyre great! The low beams are as powerful as my old high beams, and the high beams are crazy! They definitly need to be pointed down just a little bit. At least the tops of the trees look good

Good to hear that there is a big improvement in function as well as looks - what about the dreaded "RHD biased aiming" that occasionally is mentioned in here, any truth to that?

There is. Legacy4Ever did a thread on that. But you can aim the lights farther to the right, enough that the headlights aren't blinding.

I'm so jealous

Theyre obviously aimed a bit to the left, but not as drastic as people say. No one has flashed me yet, but they still need to be adjusted

Lee - any chance you're getting rid of your old stock lights? I need a passenger-side headlamp assembly...

Well I finally got my headlights somewhat aligned and got some pictures.

MUCH better. the high beams are actually high as you can see from the pictures) and the low beams are well defined. I should have raised my old headlights a bit and that would of helped, but not as much as these new ones have.

about $300 CDN with shipping. I dont know what ill do with my stockers yet jay

I already do love them. They're so much better than my stock headlights and are 100% worth what I paid for them. It was such an easy upgrade and they compliment the JDM foglights very well.

The low beams have a bit of a low spot on the pasenger side, but so did the stock headlights if you look carefully. My stockers were aimed way too low, but probably didnt have the range to be aimed any higher.

how did you aim yours?

shazapple
10-18-2006, 09:58 PM
Theres two bolts for each bulb. stick a 8mm socket on that and give them a few turns. I just aimed them so they didnt point to the left so much

Superu264
10-18-2006, 10:20 PM
No I know how to I just wanted to know how you lined them up, like how high did you know to go? I think mine should be aimed higher but I dont want to go too high and blind people.

I gotta go lookin for some level ground and a wall I can tape up!

It says if the headlights are marked with VOL, VO or VOR or ECE (European) then you can use their table for measuring, but what are our JDMs labled/can we use the USDOT standard?
