Impact wrenches are a godsend.

If they are, have a few replacements ready.

Don't want to snap the ones on the block though

the ones on the block are fine, super easy to get off...just the ones on the cat are a bitch

ah, yes, they are. I had to use an impact wrench to get the second one off. The first one only took a lot of grunting.

i had a bolt on my cat seize and nothing would get it loose. had to take a cutting wheel to it.

I snapped a bolt on the block.

I now have 3 on one side, and two on the other holding the header on. Been that way for 20,000 miles. All good!

PB Blaster is your friend. Spray a shit ton of it on the bolts that look like they are gonna be a bitch a day or so before, and let it do its magic!

That's what I used, it was somewhat easier. The bolts on the header are full threads with a cut on the header flange side. The nuts where seized on the full thread bolt. The bolt came out and all where in good shape. Just put them back on that way. The cat bolts where a bitch (with a breaker bar on my back). I cleaned all the bolts and put anti-seize on them, so when the highflow cat comes in I can do it up in a few minutes.

what i did before and NOW is just drop the whole exhaust. i think there's 2 sensor wires to disconnect before actually dropping the exhaust. maybe a little longer but less time under the car  hopefully it'll help.

Yes thoose bolts are a pain. Take the exhaust off at the muffler it makes it alittle easier. I had to cut the bolt the first time i did it. If you are installing borlas, i would recommend new hardware because there is good chance you will be down there again. That was my experiance with the single port atleast.

I got it in lastweek. I might need to get some new gaskets. We used the liquid gasket stuff but i dont think it sealed well enough. Every now and then i get a rasp coming from the header area when im driving
....My intake drowns out the boxter sound of the exhaust and the note overall isnt loud enough.

Im thinking of getting some custom 2.25" piping thrown in for the cat-back...

Which is a good segway for me to ask

What are the Pros and Cons of switching to wider piping?

Too wide = too much noise, and a loss of exhaust velocity to to expanding gases.

Too narrow = restrictive.

A nice medium for a 2.2L or 2.5L engine is 2.25" internal diameter.
