horns

I feel the need for a new horn. Something a little less "beep beep" and more tone.

What are the Hella Supertones like? The ones sybir has on his car?

Pepboys have good variety of horns...well the one closest to me has...but they have 2 types hellas and some other one made in germany...ones with different pitch and etc...it has variety of D's E's and etc...i think...but i asked them if i can preview the tones...but i cant...and yeah...i dont think i would wanna spend like $50-60 on a horn which im not going to like...does anyone know the pitch in db's and the tones that are closest to the european sports car...ie: ferraris. I would appreciate it...thanks.

I like my cadillac horns myself. Pull 'n save for $6, because the three caddy horns are a "single horn unit". Basically, because the 4 horns (I could only get three) were what composed the horn on the cadillac I argued it was one part and they agreed. Here's what they sound like:

Anyway, I got them out of an 88 seville. If you get an eldorado set of horns, they sound like train horns. Those were the ones I was looking for.

hey plays with toys...are they plug and play? or is it fabricated to fit on subarus?

They are trumpet style horns, so you have to do some figuring on your own. I mounted down just below the valve covers. Let me get some pictures. You have to drill out the hole that is threaded for standard threads (how it mounts in the caddy), and then you just run the positive wires to each horn, with some splicing, and bolt on.

Mine have the grill on the front painted white, it looks ill behind the black grille. They are plug and play ish, you have to wire in a relay because they need to hook to the battery. 30min install.
