i am looking to put on an aftermarket intake and have no idea hwo far i should go... i live here in florida and it is very wet down here. should i just replace the air box or should i add some piping and remove everything? as you can tell i know nothing about engines...HELP

I wouldn't go any lower in the fender than where the airbox meets the fender. I've hydrolocked mine going through a very very large puddle.

no i would keep it as high as possable but should i replace all of the piping witha coated aluminum pipe?

the local body shop has some pipes that can be modified to fit... i'll start on tuesday

If you get any intake for your Subaru it will throw CEL!! You are stupid to do it..... I'm sorry, I just had to say that, I remembered that's what they always said on NASIOC. I wouldn't go too low, short RAM is fine, I would like to try to see what a CAI would do.

The Weapon R Secret Weapon Short Ram will make your car sound mean as hell. No CELs and it looks purdy :) Only problem is its sucking in hot air..I dont know but i might shell out for the cold air box

i have the same intake. yes it does sound very mean and it might be in my head but it seemed to give me a little more acceleration (on cold days at least.) i was planning to make my own box with some sheet metal.

do what supra90turbo did- a Metal plate that closes off the cone filter to the fender, with a little trunk rubber stripping along the top so it seals with the hood.

got mine off of ebay. but you can go to weapon R's site and they list some dealers who sell thier stuff. i think you can buy direct from them too.

the weapon r site also lists the power of thier intakes somewhere. if i can find it ill post it here.
