View Full Version : Subaru survives crushing by semi

This was in the local news this morning..

It's not entirely clear on this report, but the rescue workers didn't even know that there was a car underneath the semi (full of Bud Light). The women was trapped in her car for about an hour (I think) before she notified workers with her horn. She had only minor injuries, the driver also. She wasn't sure if the workers would be able to recognize her horn in all the other traffic so she played "Shave and a Haircut" (beep beep ba beep beep, beep beep) The video is a little fuzzy, but on the TV you could see the Subaru star logo.

I guess they're not kidding about that safety stuff.

Why would they? What would they do and why would you even want them to go off.

a few bags of air and powder aint gonna stop your car from being crushed from above

I didn't say I'd want them to. Maybe i should have said she was lucky the air bags didn't go off b/c it would have made things a lot harder... I mean the whole front end is smashed so i figured the air bags would go.

Yeah, I was going to say, it looked like a BC legacy, either way an older subaru that wouldn't have had airbags. Even still, lets you know that even if you're driving the older roo's, they are designed very well.
