code 31 pleeeeze help!

i've changed my throttle sensor twice, but i still get the code 31. does the ECU take a while before it recognized my new sensor??...please help

you can try resetting the ECU but d/c your negative terminal for a few minutes then reconnecting it

i tried reseting, both by disconnecting the battery and also tried usng a computer. so could it be something else? coz sometimes also get a jerk in the engine when the gears shift up. but this is solved by switching engine off for a couple of minutes.
