does anyone know if the OBD II port , while being scanned , can verify what type of car its connected to or does it just scan for pending codes?

I believe they all read the same, but it's probably got some way of telling.

i was thinking about an engine swap at some point in the future , but i have to be able to pass emissions.somehow ....

i believe the OBD II port only reads codes , i dont think it knows what kind of vehicle its hooked to. im not positive though.

I know in Tennessee all they care about is that the engines have the same number of cylinders. So a Phatsuby H-6 twin turbo swap is out for me. :-(

Hmmm, thats an idea. That car kinda scares me though. I know what i'm like with the minimal HP I have, I would be damn scary with that much under the hood. :twisted:
