Depending if I can figure this out I will get rid of my Legacy. If I'm at any stop and nash the gas the car boogs and sound like it just wants to die. Car won't move for 1-2 seconds. I'm out of ideas, and it pisses me off. I'll go back to Honda, my 89 CRX never gave me problems as much as my Legacy has.

ditch the 4EAT.

More seriously, it sounds like you need a tuneup.

If i immediately floor my pedel at a stop, my car wont move, I have to take my foot off the pedal and press it again. It only happens if i try to punch it off the line. I have a 4EAT as well

My car by far needs a tune up. I stay up on that better than anyone I know. Maybe all the 4EATs are like that. Maybe this summer I will do a swap with David (ooberdoob) and anyone that wants to help.

It's part of the TCU logic. My 98 GT does the same thing. It's not a vac leak, or anything like that.

The 4EAT logic just isn't set up for pedal-to-floor immediate response.

I dont seem to have the 'problem' you guys do. When I mash the gas from a stop it bogs for maybe a second then goes, but thats normal. What can you expect from an AWD automatic though? All auto subarus ive driven do the same thing.

Surely you cant be serious in comparing a CRX to a legacy, theyre pretty much as opposite as they come

I wanted to go to the track and do a 1/4 mile run but held back from being embarassed being killed off the line never mine running 5-6 seconds behind the car at the end. Swap would be nice, hopefully we can do it in one weekend.

As for comparing my old CRX to the Legacy. Yea they are ass opposite as they come, my CRX had no problems lol, besides the 1.5 L engine.

Well, it was also a LIGHT, FWD, MANUAL car, so you really cannot compare them.

You never mash the pedal from idle at a drag anyway - put the car in D (or 3 or 2), foot on the brake, and run the rpms up to 4500rpm or higher. Light goes green, release the brake and put the go pedal down. Move shifter at 5500rpm or just hold on.

I done that too, the same thing happens. I know how to launch at a track. My thing is at a complete stop it wont go anywhere. I should have been more specific that it will do the same at a stop trying to do a brake stand.
