so after upgrading to the 6-disc WRX radio i now have no clock. it was on the factory radio but i guess WRX's have the clock on the dash so they don't need it in the radio display. oh well i guess i'll just buy a mini clock and stick it on the dash or something.

It's gay, no doubt.
I bought an EDM trim piece with a clock built in, but it turned out to be a wiring mess, and I haven't gotten any help from anybody across the pond on what wire does what, so I have a fully non-functional clock :-(

MARK,
where did you purchase the EDM clock, any pictures? Where does it mount. I am in the same situation -- having installed the WRX changer.

It turns the double DIN dash piece (where the radio and the tape/CD pocket go) into a single DIN piece, with a clock, some controls (like the radio antenna, lighting, etc) a cigarette lighter that has a light in it, and a headlight level adjuster switch.

I got it from a member in the UK.

mmm... back from the dead... just felt like whoring some pics of my hard work. The overhead console was pulled out of a '98 Forester (definitely NOT bolt in) The mirror is out of a '97 Jetta (Check sig... are you surprised?) and the visors don't clip in at the moment but along with some re-upholstery work in the semi-distant future, I've got some ideas cookin!

I'm 6'3" and I've never had a problem! I'm an interior perfectionist, so for me it was well worth the extra work to make the clock fit in with the scheme of the car. I really wish there was a mirror that incorporated the clock, as ultimately I'd like to add a moon roof to the Leg. (A. It'll be kick ass and B. It'll fix my dents near holes, from STUPIDLY modding my old bracket... and hitting the roof skin with the drill bit :(

I'm actually quite glad that my BD doesn't have a clock in the dash. It saves the trouble of having to go through the work to unplug it and shave the hole like on my last car. The reason I hate the dash clock is that 99% of the time they are not affected by the dash dimmer switch, which pisses me off.

Yes! I do agree with that! Yay for dimming Forester overhead console! It dims and I love it! I forgot to mention that, being the perfectionist I am, I ran the dimmer wire down the pillar and into my radio! (I even fixed the known bad resistor on these clocks while it was off  (I drive a '96 Brighton... why do I do the things I do to it...)
