This weekend I went down to Maine to pick up a little something for myself. 03 WRX front and rear seats

The good:
Theyre sooo much more comfortable than my stock seats. I enjoy sitting in them every time and they hold me in place 300 time better than the stock seats. Cornering is actually easier when you dont have to hold yourself! Overall I like the new seating position.
They darken the interior very nicely and look great. Im going to recover my door panel fabric to match and darken the interior more.
Everything bolts right in too!

The bad:
They sit higher than the stock seats. Theyre a tad lower than the legacys highest point. The Driving position felt weird for a little bit, but I got used to it quickly and actually like sitting higher. Mine didnt come with seatbelts so I had to use my own bolts to rig up my old seatbelts.
The rear seats dont fold down, but the center passthrough is big enough for my snowboard. Not big enough for my bike though :( I have to rig up some sort of latch system using one of my old latches so the fold down rear armrest actually works right

The ugly:
The back seats arnt a perfect fit. I plan to fix this by recovering the rear deck in black and raising it an inch. The sides also show a lot from the corner window. Ill probably get a piece of foam and wrap it in black fabric to stuff in that hole.

Overall Im very glad I got them, because the front seats are the ones that matter. My ideal situation would to buy the front seats, then reappolster them and my stock rears. I cant say whether I prefer the WRX rears over my stock rears, but they complete the look.

What kind of seats did you have and what did you do with them? (The rear anyway)

Thats what I did in my GC8. Same problem with the rear seats (mine were STi but its the same idea). I made a cardboard template for the gap between the seats and the rear window tray, cut it out of a piece of 2x4 pine, and screwed the pine to the tray. You'll want to back the tray with something, I used a piece of metal with holes drilled in it, kinda like a big long washer haha. Then recover the thing, and voila! fits perfect.

Thats a good idea. Id also like to make the speaker holes a little bigger, as it doesn't seem like much sound can get through the 5 tiny holes subaru drilled :-?

That would be a great time to remedy it.

just an opinion...why not just tint your windows?

^^ that's a half-assed way of avoiding the imperfection, and shazapple doesn't roll like that. (sorry- don't mean to sound mean...I know it's just your opinion) :)

Personally, I reckon you could reupholster the stock rear seat to match the fronts...that way you retain the 60/40 split fold-down etc.

I had the stock legacy seats. Theyre sitting in my garage for now. The fronts may go into my grandfathers truck.

Ill tint my windows someday, but not to hide the back seat. Maybe someday Ill recover my stock rears. Right now Im out of modding money
