What does TS-R mean?

It is basically a trim designator - it'll be an upgraded version of the TS model.
(don't ask what TS stands for either)

yup 750 but it cost me KYD $3000 Shipping + Cost + Freight (USD $3572) to get it off the warf, their isnt even a dent in the door,all i see was a scratch but i buffed it out and the only major problem with it was the a/c condenser was bad and the front bumper if melted up but i give up trying to find a new one.

Thanks for the info Hoff, but if you google Legacy TS-R and you will find a number of other cars with that trim. this one even has the TS-R Emblem.

Any car - model specific - that is imported has to meet NHTSA safety requirements.

If the car is based on a chassis that was available in the US, then you cannot import it as a whole car. Wrecked, yes, but not a rolling chassis.

If the car was not buyable in retail form in the US, you can import it, but it (the car model) has to undergo frontal impact tests (which means NHTSA will make you buy, and wreck several examples).

A good example of this is MotoRex - who became famous (prior to the tax evasion charges) for importing certified Nissan GT-R's. They had to purchase several of the cars and submit them for impact and other testing.
Hence why importation is quite expensive.

It's a way America keeps it's domestic used car market alive - New Zealand and Australia import HEAVILY from Japan - resulting in ridiculously good prices on used imported vehicles, and it actually helps Japan continue to push their technology ahead, because the lifecycle of cars in Japan is literally 5 years.

Ok bringing back up the old thread :D i am still doing reaserch into my car even though i am selling it but all i found out is that legacies had a TS model and the TS-R is a slightly upgraded model meaning TS Type R

That is a good amount of research... it does show that it is lighter.

I do notice that those sites do differ in their specifications - one is showing a compression ratio of 9.0, the other, 9.7 - that's quite a difference, given that the power output didn't change.

Maybe you could email Subaru Japan to get the definitive answer... ?
