I'm in the midst of swapping an 03 EJ205 WRX motor with MT tranny into my fiancee's 00 Leg GT LTD with Auto tranny. I have been documenting it on Nasioc in the legacy forum and figured that the swap might interest some people here since I don't know if it has been done before in an auto BE/BH legacy.

I dont' feel like posting updates on this site because I'd rather not have to keep up two concurrent threads and it would be nice to keep all the questions and tech stuff on the nasioc thread. General comments are certainly welcome in this thread!
cheers!

Haha, for sure! Hey what did you end up doing with the WRX interior, like seats and dash and all that?

the seats are in my 03 impreza. The dash, center console, hvac and all those bits are for sale since we're using the legacy dash.

aww, dash swaps are cool!

legacy dash >>>>> wrx dash. It's much more solid, higher quality plastic, and has nicer curves. Besides, the wrx dash is hardly a direct fit and the leg has different HVAC and heater core units. A dash swap would be near impossible to complete with everything being functional!

Hooray! I'm almost done with the wiring. It has been a b*tch to say the least but I'm still psyched to be doing the swap. This weekend should be the moment of truth when I turn the key and see what blows up
ps. I'll be glad to answer any wiring questions for future BE/WRX swappers. I have both harnesses pretty much memorized a this point.

You should take a pic of the complete harness before you stick that bitch in there.. if you already havent. Take a BUNCH of pics.. close, and from far away.. that way it will serve as a good reference. How much did you pick up the donor engine for? How much has the complete project cost you so far? Good work man!

I think it was his wrx wagon that all this came out of iirc. Anyways, congrats! You'll enjoy it, all the hassle is worth it in the end ;)
and post pictures! haha

SHE LIVES! I drove the beast around the block tonight. my swap is nearly complete. Sheepdog, there are a boat-load of pictures in the nasioc thread. I'm too lazy to maintain a third thread on this page with all the details (already have one on Nasioc and awdpirates).
