so i have 2 polkmomo 12;s and a 1000 watt 1 chanel amp. with a cap. every time i hit the brakes i get a loud thump from the subs and tonight when my abs came on a major thump came on, even wen i flick my high beems on it does it. what could be causeing this/

I dunno. Got the brake light wires near the signal for the amp?

probably in the wiring for the amp, your getting feedback from something.

describe how you wired your setup (headunit, speakers, amp, subs, whatever).

Your RCA cables are most likely too close to parts of your car's electrical wiring. That's why you run RCA cables on the opposite side of the car as your amp's power wire. Interference can be picked up by the RCA cables (especially if they're crappy ones), which will cause the burp by your subs.

Try rerouting your RCA cables, or perhaps buy a better pair. I think that's your most likely problem.

is your amp & Cap grounded to the car itself?
if you power wire coming str8 from the battery?

the amp and the cap are both grounded, and the hot wire goes to a fuse then to the amp
