View Full Version : camshaft position sensor problems anyone?

ive been having a really sporatic no start problem latley. the car will turn over fine but not start and i'll let it sit for a while then it wil turn over and throw a camshft position sensor circut code. if i drive around a bit the code clears its self. anyone else have this problem? how did you solve it? i have some ideas but, but if anyone knows the exact problem that would be great! thanks!

im bringing this back form the dead....
i had autozone pull this code today and they said this is whats wrong...
OKay i say, i guess i need one...
here is the funny part:
i told him from the beginning it was 96 Subaru legacy just so i wouldnt have to deal with them arguing its not OBDII. my car is a 95 and its OBDII.
so i bought the camshaft sensor, and i think it goes right in front of the timing marks right?
so i pull my old one out and try to put the new one in finding out its a different plug and has a metal casing on it making it to big for the whole.
so is there 2 different camshaft sensor?
is there a difference between the 95 and 96 motors?
its a 2.2L automatic.

nope no differents from 95-09 2.2 or 2.5 n/t, 90-94 is different. wrong cam sensor?

Hi there! While I was reading this thread, I remember one of my friend told me last week that he also encounter this camshaft position sensor circuit code but somehow it clears also by itself after a long drive and my friend said that it keeps coming back from time to time. So I was wondering if you were able to solve the circuit code problem. I'll appreciate if you could kindly share to me what did you do to fix it. Thanks in advance!
