ok, excuse my ignorance to the BE/BH world, but i'm probably gonna have quite a few questions over the next few month, research has helped, but i still have others.

ANYWAYS...

If I got with a 18 x 8 rim, what should the offset be? 48?

and what is a good size tire to go with? 225/40?

Now I'm pretty newb, but I'm running 18 x 8's on 225/40's. I believe my offset is 51. The tires are way skinny, which allows them to fit. I don't think they would fit with a bigger tire to be honest.

I'd have to confirm with sybir that everything I just said is true. He knows more than me :D

Time to do your own research mate! ;)

I would go with a 17x7.5 with a 48 offset, along with a 225/45/17 tire - in fact I did and they look good  . 18's look a little to big on a BE/BH IMO.

Thanks guys, this really helps (especially the calc).

What are some of you BE guys running for wheel/tire sizes? i'm particularly interested in the 18's with different offsets.

I found a particular wheel i'm pretty set on, so i'm trying to find someone who has runa 18x8, with a 48mm offset. i plan on using coilovers and not just springs so i can adapt to different tire sizes if need be.

i live in VT, and the roads are average. i had 225/40's on my spec.b's and they were great.

I don't think I'd recommend a 48 offset. I think it'd be too close. That or my offset knowledge is way offwhack than I am aware of.

I'm too noob at wheels, don't listen to me.

Incorrect sir. +48 works just fine.

To the OP, I just responded to your post on NASIOC.

Go to Legacygt.com They have a wheel fitment/offset guide.

i saw it, but i thought it was only for the new GT's?

The offset/width still applies. The only thing that would matter is how wide a tire you can go, which varies on the year due to clearance issues inside the wheelwell (Bg wagons generally rub on any tire wider than 225 for example)

ah, gotcha.

I was trying to say that I don't think a 48 offset would work on an 18" wheel, but maybe it will as well. I know that a 48 offset is recommended for 17" wheels.

^^^ Width has considerably more to do with offset than diameter.
