Hey everybody, my name is Dave. I just bought my car about a month ago. This is the first car that I have owned by myself, and it is the first car I have had since I graduated high school a little over four years ago. So needless to say I have earned it. It is a black cherry '98 Subaru Legacy GT AWD with a little over 98K miles on it. I've been writing with some of you to try and figure out ways that I can save money on maintaining my new baby, and ways that I can make it run better. I'm always up for suggestions, and any advice is welcome. You can feel free to send me private messages or try to instant message me with the aim. I'm not always at my computer, because I have to work to keep my car and maintain it/ improve it. But my computer is almost always up and running and aim is on when the computer is on. So thanks for all your advice and I hope to hear from the rest of you soon.

Dave

Hey welcome! And since you just got the car and can't wait to sink money into thats GREAT! Your first thing you will want to do (if previous owner didn't) save up some money and replace your head gaskets :D maybe get a few other things done like me. Rear main crank seal, new water pump and timing belt. Then you will be ready for modding!! lol

The boys got jokes.....and bad headgasket and seals. Listen to the voice of reason.

We still love you. Just remember that when you need a shoulder to cry on.

I have one sweet running legacy and I'm about to have one EJ22T that will show you some sh*t.

Just don't be a stranger.

Was that your intention when you made the name, Shane? So you could get all these great puns? Cause no one is laughing.

...WHAT? another forum that youre on? And you're not secretly PMing members with Legacy's to come over here? disappointed!

But really, welcome to the site! Hope you keep active and fix that 98 GT something nice! Definately look into getting the headgaskets done soon, I wish I knew about them before they blew in my car and left me stuck 45 minutes from my house. Pre-emptive is the way to go. When the engine is out to change the gaskets definately get the seals and other stuff reason mentioned replace...now only a summer later I have to have my engine pulled again to replace all my seals and other gaskets that are leaking with oil ala exxon valdez, but luckily I'm due for a timing belt change so it halfway works out.

who says I'm not? Actually, Belladonna and I are the only Legacy members there, and there's one other subaru owner who owns a bugeye impreza, but he's not a regular (we don't want non-active members, do we?). Its more of a forum that appreciates all vehicles and not just certain types. But I won't tell you what it is....hehe
