i changed my brake pads recently and found that one of my rear rotors is warped and i also noticed my front rotors are vented and my rears are not. are the rotors the same size front to back and could i buy a set of new rotors for the front and put them in the rear and have four way vented rotors?

No.

in case ivwarrior wasn't clear enough, I might elaborate. Front rotors will not fit in the rear because the rear rotors have an extra-large hat portion to accomodate the e-brake. Besides, you are better off getting some nice Brembo blank rotors than vented. Vents are mainly for looks and in most cases, are added to a rotor as an afterthough rather than incorporated into the casting process, resulting in a rotor that is prone to cracking and warping.
if your rear rotor is not badly warped, you might be able to have it turned. I have set of 03 wrx rear rotors that are in good shape if you need a cheap fix.
edit: errr, brain fart. I'm taking about slotted, not vented rotors. vented rotors are indeed good

Your rear brakes don't do as much work as the front, thats why the fronts are vented. I don't think the calipers would be able to accommodate the extra width anyway.
I think ten80 is talking about slotted rotors. Other than mixing up the terminology hes right.
I think that turning rotors is a huge waste of money. If they warped at the stock thickness then they'll warp much easier when shaved down.

yea he is not talking about slotted rotors,
but more like this.
vented...

not vented (solid)

my integra is similar, it also has vented up front and solid in the back.

Get the rear rotors/ caliper brakets and caliper from the 05+ LGT. They're vented.

is that a hard swap to do or pretty striaght forward?

i might be interested.

Hmm, the BE/BH's got the same size rotors but unvented (termed the "H6" upgrade by WRX guys), and that's a direct bolt-on AFAIK. Chances are it is the same for yours, but you'll have to take out your dust shield since it's smaller than the new rotors.

yep I didnt' have enough caffeine this morning. I've had very lightly warped rotors turned with good success. If they are more than 1mm or so out, they are probably not worth doing, like shazapple mentioned.

I'll be honest with you and say flatly, you won't really need vented rear rotors. Cars are setup to have mid to heavy front bias to begin with (due to weight transfer) so the rears are really there just to keep the tail tracking where the fronts are going.
It takes a lot to warp a rear rotor; in fact few people will ever warp their rear rotors even if they track it. I would check your other brake components to make sure nothing like the brake pads rubbing or a partly seized piston isn't causing excess friction and thus the warpage before doing any sort of upgrade.

OK, if you want vented rear disks, here's the way to go. (Note, you'll need 17" wheels to clear this setup)

It's listed as fitting 93+ Impreza, but I'd think it'd work on the Legacy, too. (Life size Legos, right?)

+1 for leaving the rear brakes alone. They're totally under stressed (you could probably run drums and stock compound pads w/o issues) and swapping calipers will change your brake bias. Anything that improves your stopping distance will be putting more load on the front tires and less on the rear anyway.
Good street/track pads will make an incredible difference (much more than big vented rotors will) and are much cheaper. 'warped' rotors are usually just straight rotors with pad material stuck to them.
