Do wrx/sti pitch stops fit the Leg (manual trans)? Stock and aftermarket pitch stops? Correct lenght?
I imagine either wrx/sti and perhaps new LGT use stiffer bushings and/or are not made of plastic. I'm even considering rebushing the stock pitch stop pending I can find a properly sized rubber or urethane bushing to replace the weak factory bushing.
I have stock motor mounts and group N trans mount. It feels better than stock but I want to tighten it up a bit more.

GroupN makes a pitch stop, which will be stiffer than any stock Subaru mount. I don't know if the WRX or STi mounts are stiffer than Legacy ones. The Pitch stop (GroupN) is less than 50 bucks @ www.subarugenuineparts.com (http://www.subarugenuineparts.com)

Yes, any pitchstop made for the Imps/WRX/STi will fit on all Legacy's. I have a group N pitch stop on mine.
Bottomline is don't waste your money unless you already have the engine and tranny mounts.

The GroupN pitch stop mount will fit fine.
I recommend them to all subaru owners, it really reduces the drivetrain lash when going on or off the throttle.
My wife's RS has stock motor and trans mounts with a GroupN pitch stop, and I can tell you from personal experience that it makes the car much more fun to drive, especially in stop-go traffic.

That is the exact reason I was thinking about upgrading the pitch stop. The 'bump' between on/off throttle isn't all that severe and is easily controllable by easing the throttle but I'd like to tighten it up. I heard sti engine mounts aren't really worth the money if the existing engine mounts are in good shape. I have the groupN trans mount already and the difference was significant.

Or go with a Function7 pitch rod. Aluminum rod with graphite-urethane (I think) bushings.
I have one. Haven't installed it yet. But, I did have the Group N version and that was a definite improvement over the OEM piece.

Yeah the function7 is pretty slick looking, but 4x the price of the groupn is a pretty penny.

As far as I've seen.
Engine mounts are a little pricey there, though.

What are the advantages over the tranny mount conpared to the pitch stop mount in terms of drivetrain lash on and off the throttle?
I don't want increased vibration comming from my tranny, which I've heard happens with the group N tranny mount.

Enh, I notice a bit of vibration, but nothing awful, you just tend to wonder what it is the first couple times you drive the car (if you're paying attention).
The pitch stop will cure that bucking when you get off the throttle quickly.

Was it worth it?

With the pitch stop you will get alot more engine noise in the cabin. Ooberdoob has one and you can hear everything. It's not crazy loud but it's more noise than stock. I would still get it with upgrading the rest of the mounts.

I put a RalliTek tranny mount in my car and it does smarten-up the shifts, but it also adds a fair amount of sound/vibration into the car over stock. It is kind of a nice sound though - sort of like running headers or a louder axelback. Still very worth it. My next move is aftermarket engine mounts and pitch stop.
