gas tank size : gallons: for a 1997 legacy gt

Hello: Can someone tell me how many gallons the tank holds in the 97 legacy gt? I just bought the car, and the owners manual is not in the car.

Ok, thanks for the info, what type of mpg are you guys getting. If I am checking it right I am only getting about 22mpg. Seems sort of low. Maybe the gauge is messed up.

I get about 10km/L, which is about 23mpg. Thats a mixture of highway and city. I can get closer to 30 on long highway trips

I drive it hard since its so freakin slow, 1st gear shifts are always at 3000rpm. I dont floor it, its always gradual.. but I gotta get it moving somehow.

I also do most of my driving in the city. Its true city driving with constant stop and go so I justify my crappy mileage with that. :roll:

The fuel guage on my 97 will read quarter left when I only can take 8 gallons, I think this is normal for these cars.

There must be something wrong with some of your cars, I am not a slow driver, actually on the aggressive side and I solidly get between 27 and 28 mpg on mixed driving.

Doesn't make sense - if you're driving in the city, why over rev the car and waste your gas?

I get 24 mpg at best with mixed highway city (though mostly highway). Well below what I should be getting.

When the fuel light in my car comes on theres still 10L (2.6 gal) left in the tank. Ive never put more than 55L (14.5 gal) in the car.

2000 Legacy with MT is supposed to get 21/28 city/highway so Id say your pretty close. Its about the same with my car.

No matter how hard I try while driving around town I always get the same gas mileage. Sure I can squeeze 50 extra km out of the car but I drive like a grandmother and its super boring. Ive just stopped caring about the cost of gas altogether since its always changing and I can afford it.

Ok I checked the mpg again this morning when I filled up, getting about 22-24mpg. But I have to realize this is on the I-5 going to Mt. Shasta.
I am driving up and down major hills.
So is that about right, car was just tuned up and passed smog fine.

then you know your gas is too low when your car cuts out driving 70mph on the highway.
