Here's another one people.

Whenever I rev or race my engine it always gets this weird smell like something burning. But nothing is ever acctually burning.

I tried taking off the subaru logoed cover that goes over the starter and covers the inter cooler partially, but the problem still persisted after a week.

If it is just me driving my 06 LGT too hard just tell me. Or maybe I just need to uprade some of the stock stuff.

Are you launching hard? It might be the clutch.

It doesn't smell like burning coolant does it?

I'm thinking it could be brakes too. Or the vtec's you smoked.

How many miles are on the car? Are you breaking it in properly?

My guess is clutch. That's the only strange smell I've gotten from my experience in Legacys

I have a similar smell when I drive fast and then park, my muffler also makes a whisteling noise for a while after. I don't think its anything to worry about since it only happens when you give take your engine into the higher rev range. Subarus run rich anyway.

well...it not the coolant. The brakes are fine. I think it is the clutch because there are times i have to say that I stupidly hit the gas while foots on the clutch and the clutch some how gets pulled in as i accelerate and the rpms go up to 5 or so.........

my legacy is well broken in ....i think....i have put on 7600 miles or so in like 8 months i think ( driving back and forth to school everyday (30-40 minutes to get there.))

But yea I think i may just be burning the clutch a lot...because in the are where i go to school theres a lot of traffic, and so im using the clutch constantly....if not holding it too much....

You should never smell the clutch (even in heavy traffic) if you're driving it properly and nicely.
