hey gys its me mark v again. I just got a pre purchase question...as to whether or not you guys think its okay...or good..?

I as you all now maybe by now a 2006 Legacy GT. Standard on just about everything.

Im thinking about new brakes(rotors pads...the whole 9 yards.) and the reason for this is beacause I work at an auto part store...., and I get 20% off every thing.

So whats' ur guys opinion on cross drilled rotors....

Stock brakes are OK. What auto parts store do you work at? Most of the generic brand stuff isn't as good as stock in my experience.

If you can get Hawk HPS pads though, they make a nice upgrade to the brakes.

see thats the thing...we have special order items...it takes like a day...so i can check.....but you dont think i would need ...or it would be good with cross drilled..?

Oh, yeah, your specific question.

Stock solid rotors are fine unless you plan on tracking the car. Cross drilled or slotted rotors are frankly a waste of money on your car.

ehh, it depends. However, for daily driving purposes, you don't really need them. Slotted rotors are nice, however for your application you should look for a set of cryo treated rotors (slotted or no), and a set of nice pads. People like various brands, I use metalmasters, and love them, just a lot of brake dust. Drilled rotors will just make you go through pads fast.

If you can order Hawk parts, get HPS pads, or Carbotech Panthers if you can get Carbotech.

Rotors are fine. It's over a foot wide; that's larger than a dinner plate (perspective). Many who have tracked their GT's have yet to warp the stock rotors. Most that have gone for brembo/rotora etc. upgrades just do it mostly for looks.

Also, order some high-temp brake fluid, like Motul.

i'll check into the hawk parts...and the brake fluid...they all sound like wise decisions i can make in the summer....cuz its starten to get reallll cold up here in new york <millwood>
