do you feel shudder in the pedal or steering wheel?

is this at low speeds in parking lots and such?

Could be the torque converter. In that case give your trans a good fluid change (theres a bunch of threads on this)

if it's your pedal it could be a number of things. Changing your tranny fluid is a good idea, regardless. Rest your right hand on the gear shift lever while you are turning and see if you feel strong vibrations in that.

If your car is 'whining' while turning the wheel a lot, it could be power-steering related.

EDIT: I'm going to look in my repair manual today in the faq's section. I will post again if I find anything.

Combination of old transmission and power-steering pump noises.

after driving the car more and feeling the vibration, its more of the whole car doing it, not just the pedal....i can feel it on the floor.
and the whining is going strait down the road...only does it when its cold though?

Change the transmission fluid.

Don't quote me, but as I recall, the 95 to about 97 Subaru tranys had a repair notice on the front diff. My friends grandmother had the front diff go bad at 50k, and the dealer tech said that subaru knew of the problem, but since it was past warrenty, they would not fix it. Suck

It was also an auto. The car felt like it was stopping and starting while turning. (Because both tires were locked in posi track, rether than free spinning:oops: )

tighten your power steering belt a little.
