In the past few days the Leg has been acting a little sick, and I am hoping to get some suggestions of what it might be.

Under any kind of acceleration I get what seems like misfiring at fairly specific rpms through the powerband. It seems like she sputters or hesitates a bit just before 3000, around 3500 and just before 4000 rpm. It happens during light, medium, and heavy throttle. The car is an auto, and had a new shortblock not too long ago (before I bought it). The car soon will be up for its 98K service (one of the big ones) and the service, I beleive, involves a plug and wire replacement - so if my issue if ignition related, I am hoping the service will solve that. I figured the problem is either fuel or ignition, as if it was water in the fuel the problem would not show it self at the same rpms each time, and if it was tranny issues the problem probably wouldn't be at the same rpms in all gears. I did think ECU though might be an issue. Anyway I am hoping the 98k service will solve the issue, if not I did get an extended warranty though the Subaru dealer when I bought it used, so I am hoping that will cover the cost if it is not going to be solved by the 98k service.

Any thoughts/experience with this issue?

A repeatable misfire will trigger a CEL code, specific to the cylinder affected.

No CEL's yet.

Could also be a valve spring getting stuck, that was causing me some misfires.

The grounding mod is said to cure this kind of thing. Not a mis-fire but a hesitation feeling.

Some users with thsi claim that it worked for them.

Ya - a poster from subaruclub.ca mentioned a grounding issue from Nasioc. I will have to look into that.
